PLEASE READ RIGHT TO THE END - Message from both Gav and Emma (Eric's owners).

We would like to say that we have now been in contact with the owner of the dog which attacked Eric.

He has openly offered to pay for the entire vets fees, and measures are now being put in place to ensure his dog won't do the same to any other dog / animal.

We would ask that people refrain from comments relating to destroying his dog / vicious comments directed to the owner of the dog.

The intention of sharing the photos of Eric's injuries is for the purpose of updating people on Eric's progress only and not to start any form of 'witch hunt'.

This experience has been traumatic enough as it is, and social media has helped us locate Eric, which was our only intention from the start. Please don't make this sharing frenzy become a 'monster''. Only happy and positive comments are welcomed. smile emoticon

From Eric's FB page : Eric is now out of surgery. He has 4 major puncture wounds and has had a lot of skin removed. He has had a rubber type skin put over the worst wound for the time being. The vets have assured us that Eric is doing well and has come out of the anaesthetic well. He is staying in tonight and we can hopefully bring him home tomorrow.
We are so relieved and now feel we can settle a little. We will have one very spirit dog once he is home! Xx

Message from the owners.....
Thank you so much everyone. His main wound is really bad and he has more then one. He is at the vets on a drip and they will be putting him under anaesthetic later to clean him up and see what the full extent of damage is. He is safe and warm and I will be phoning later on for some news. Xx

Thank you all so, so much for your assistance and well wishes. My wife has him and is en route to the local vets as he is badly hurt on his back end. I'll keep everyone updated on the 'please help find Eric' page. Again, thank you all. Our faith in human kindness is full restored!!!!

Eric's owner has been interviewed on Radio Norfolk this morning, hopefully this will bring some news.
If anybody is able to help search for Eric today, it is probably best to contact the owner to find out what areas need to be covered.

Eric ran away after being attacked by another dog, he still has his lead attached. He does not know the area.
