As I was saying... does Max's owner have a landline number as well as the mobile number given. I tried to call it today to find out if Max was home and kept getting the message that the number was not available (or something like that anyway). Also, is there a photo coming? I know that most people know what a Rottie looks like but, having said that, a lady with a young Bouvier said to us just a couple of days ago 'Are your dogs Labradors?'. Magnum & Milly are both Rotties!!! And so, it just goes to show that we cannot assume that everyone knows a Rottie when they see one!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As the owners got this dog back and as not let the sight know as this happens quit a lot, Also agree with Milly's Mum they should have a alternative phone number as there are people out there would think twice about ringing mobiles for the reason Milly's mum as said. Hope Max is home or very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Really concerned to hear that Max is missing but good to hear that he is chipped. Visit all local pubs and ask them to display a poster. Speak to the regulars as they will have lots of local knowledge and good contacts. Like Yasa says, hand out business-card sized card with your contact details on the reverse. That way, when someone spots him (AND THEY WILL!) they won't have to return to a poster to get the telephone number. Is this boy friendly and would he go off with anyone (ours won't - they would scream their heads off, especially my young Milly!)?! Also agree with tori, poster like mad (hand out mini flyers) and make this young man the hottest Rottie in town! Extensive postering REALLY DOES WORK and has been responsible in reuniting lost dogs with their owners tim and time again!!! Bumble, the female Rottie that went missing from the Stafford area, was reunited with her owners as a result of a local newspaper article. Good Luck in finding your boy. I will be keeping a regular watch on Max's page.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as admin receives a photograph, the poster can be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible. Lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins, vets, pet shops, ask postmen to take to sorting office, milkmen, bin men, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, all takeaway food shops, dog training clubs, supermarkets, car parks, and in car windows. Hand out smaller posters or cards to people, especially dog walkers and deliver to houses etc. Police stations, and Dog Wardens, R.S.P.C.A , and all rescue centres need checking frequently, and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Max well. Good luck Max x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did Max escape or was he stolen from the garden. A would be dog thief would have to be stupid/reckless or know the dog to steal a Rottie from it's own home! If he was stolen has anyone shown a particlar interest in him when you were out walking ect? Poster as widely as possible and make him the most recognised Rottie around! The hotter you can make him the better! Ask your postman if s/he will help deliver posters in letterboxes, poster vets, dog training clubs, local pubs, local parks, pet supermarkets and if possible put his picutre in your local papers. Hope he is safely home very soon. Rotties are gorgeous dogs, that need to be in safe, loving and responsible handsxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
