Good advice ClaireC and CopperM.
I've rung owner of Buffy (98606)who is once again missing from 10 this morning. Buffy is not chipped according to her details.

Suggest that if you can take this dog to a vet, they will scan for a chip. If there is one present they will trace owner but also will take the dog from you. If no owner they will arrange for the local Dog Warden to collect. This will save you a lot of worry!

Please take to a vet to get scanned for a chip (free) . Dont forget, if someone claims the dog as theirs, ask for proof... Photos, vax card etc. Pls remove your house number to stop opprtunistic people sayng the dog is theirs! Always watch the dog to gauge reaction when 'owner' comes to collect..
