Heartbreaking - poor, poor dog. I am so very sorry and hope an owner can be traced for closure. Run free at the bridge, dear boy xxx

Sounds awful but I'd suggest that dog was in a bin liner or similar and tipped out for it to be in that strange position

Thanks Linda could very possibly be a Patterdale Cross. Unusual position for a dog that has died have to say! I have emailed you separately. Poor little soul RIPLast edited: 2016-02-24 11:26:06 by ClaireC

This dog was found by one of our Inspectors whilst dealing with a fly tip, he came across the dog by chance. The dog was found it the position shown and was in rigger so no other photo’s were taken.

I was off so did not get to see the dog for 4 days and by then it had been in the freezer, still in that position so difficult to say exactly what breed it is.

It is a medium male, black wire haired dog, possible a Patterdale cross.

Map also attached shows the location found.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful but aside from defrosting the poor thing there is not much more I can tell you.
