- I am so pleased, so impressed with the perseverance and dedication given in getting Fly back to his family. But as delighted as I am about this- I feel equally angry with this particularly nasty crime and ransom. It's so immoral, so wrong - and I just hope that there really is a karma who will strike down these thieves. Well done Team Fly . How you pulled this off-.Ill never know, but you done good. - Wow - There go the thieves or at least close contacts of them - I have had a similar scenario meeting travellers selling a lurcher. Still, money is just money - getting Fly home to his dad - priceless.

Amazing!
"So last night about 4.30 pm I had just gone upstairs and my phone rang. It was a mobile number I didn't recognise. I answered. There was a lady on the phone saying she had our dog at her house...she was sure of it. She had seen the pics on Facebook she said, She said it had been bought for her son who has some difficulties or disabilitieS. She was convinced it was him and there was a bloke in the background agreeing with her. She told me she was from Essex and if we wanted him we had to come tonight cos they were busy working the following day etc. they said something like they wanted him gone tonight before their son came back. I explained that I needed a pic by email or text cos it was a long way to come without us knowing it was him but she said it is him. She said she weren't in Internet so couldn't do that n her phone don't send pic messages. her bloke come on phone asked to speak with David. I explain I would need to ask David for his permission to give out his number n I'd get back to Them. I called David in bit of a panic really n he said it was fine to give them his numbers, all sorts of crap was going through my head to be Honest Esp about whether we were walking into some sort of trap by scammers. I had asked her how much they'd paid for the dog n she said 800 quid. I explained to her that we did have a reward but I couldn't just get dosh like that ASAP. I could only get 250 from a cash point n didn't have any more dosh at home. David called me back after he'd spoke to her saying they'd agreed that we would come to Harlow area tonight n agreed a price less than 800 but they were happy with this.. I then had to rush as needed to walk my own dog first as she was due a walk, then jumped into car to get the dosh from the cash point n went to See my bloke who said he get the rest and then went to D's. By time I got to his it was gone 730 as takes me over an hour from mine to his...we reached Harlow and the chosen place gone 9 N it was getting dark. Loads of crap still going through my head To be Honest.. We met the lady at the place we'd agreed on n I couldn't see any dog but she said her daughter was just nearby walking him. Fly rounded the corner and I couldn't believe the resemblance! Surely it had to be him? David and him greeted each other n he checked him over so he was sure it was him. He was convinced it was but it was getting darker by this point. We paid the money. I thanked her and said I hoped she would be able to get another lovely pup with the dosh for her son. We stopped at services on way back as we was hungry and i couldn't get no internet. I..went into this hotel and explained the story to a nice lady who was amazed n who said I can access theirs so I could at least put a quick post on to tell you that I had him! I told David we needed to eat near the car cos there weren't no way I was letting fly out of my sight! We got back close to midnight and I took a video of Fly going back into his home. Rusty and Jim went mental. Crazy antics. I hope to post it later if I can X"

Fly is home folks. Can hardly believe it myself. Somebody pinch me. Am I dreaming. This hasn't sunk in yet. We did it! It all happened so suddenly and we had to go and get him tonight from Essex so there was no time to update you all. He's quite thin but he seems okay other than that. - 2016-08-12 06:49 ClaireC

- This has been posted today on their f/b page...Hmmm traveller has somehow spoke to David yesterday... he was out at a friends house n someone stopped in a transit van n somehow knew bout fly it seems... claims fly is brilliant at coursing n is in Essex. So hard to know what to believe. At the end of the day, he wasn't theirs to take n it breaks my heart that this goes on. Its such a cruel world sometimes.

- Fly was stolen with Rusty, a ten year old Jack Russell terrier, from his elderly widowed owner's home, along with chickens and equipment from his shed. Rusty and Fly's owner is devastated by their loss and just wants them safely back home with him. This is a plea from their owner, a widower and pensioner:
"The Jack Russell really helps me. I have got a bad heart and very bad arthritis – I really suffer but Rusty helps me to sleep. He used to sleep under my arm on my bed. He makes so much fuss of me and he always knew when I was in pain. I am heartbroken. I have cried and cried. I keep thinking about them being left in a cold shed being starved to death. I can't get the image out of my mind. These dogs are part of the family; they are my family. I just hope this might touch these people's hearts and get them to let them out. I love them both dearly and I want them back. Rusty is 10 years old now and I have had him all his life. Please have a heart."
