- I've just been to visit and meet Houdini. Have added the reunited photos on to this page (pls refresh the page to see them)
Houdini has been to the vet today and is on meds to help his very sore paw recover. It looks like the lead may have got caught up around it so it's rather raw. He was really good, bless him and brave enough to come to me and say hello (I did have some biscuits with me!) and was happy to let me stroke him properly too.
Monty was lovely and enjoyed all the praise I gave him. He is truly a star as he was the one who found his pal.
I'm sure with all the tlc flightyknighty and Chrissie are giving him that he will soon put on weight again.
Stay safe boy, so happy you are home! - 2016-04-24 15:41 Unknown

Faith in human nature has been restored :) We cannot thank you all enough for all your time and effort :) We will be making a donation and also offering our services as volunteers and hopefully helping others the way you've all been so kind to us. Once again you're all legends :) :) :)

- We are officially the happiest dog owners in the world!!!!!!!! :) He was hiding in the garden opposite nicoles house waiting for next feed. Monty had been tracking and picked up his scent near a alleyway and lead us all the way back to St Dominics Close so we worked out the route he was taking. We headed back to the car and heard some russling in the garden. Chrissie threw some dog biscuits over the wall and then I walked around with torch and saw him. He got within 5 feet then ran into overgrowth. We got Monty, let him off lead they reunited like long lost brothers, Chris called Monty over Houdini followed and we got him. He has a slightly injured back left foot and he will be going to vets anyway for a full check up.

- Just got a very excited call from Chrissie to say that she has got Houdini!!
So, so very relieved for her and flightykighty.
I expect they will update later as they have literally only just caught him.
Welcome home Houdini!
Apparently Chrissie got her Labrador tracking this evening and they were back in Albany Rd where they found Houdini in a garden opposite Nicola's house. Houdini came straight to Monty and was a very happy boy seeing his friend and owners again! Hopefully they are on way home now :)Last edited: 2016-04-23 23:08:40 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2016-04-23 22:38 Patlucky

- thankyou Nicola for helping to get Houdini home. its amazing how doglost and their supporters succeed time after time after time in reuniting lost dogs, but its because people like Nicola, who apparently is a cat person, do their bit. I am hoping this time tomorrow Houdini will be in the blue column. so glad doglost has gone back to the old format which is brilliant I had given up trying to follow anyone on the new style. good luck tonight -

- Thanks again Jan. Hopefully we won't need too many more posters if we can keep him in Albany Rd area!
Sorry only just posting but was at vets in Battle this morning & doing the obligatory shopping.
Was very happy to hear Houdini went back to Albany and to visit Nicola. Have had chat with both her and flightyknighty.
Thanks also to Jcwar30 and all who have commented but especially to Nicola for the sighting and help last night.
I'm so glad that Nicola is helping as she's a lovely, kind lady & is doing pretty well with luring Houdini despite being known as a cat lady, bless her!
I should also thank all on Hastings Dog Lovers page as the sighting fm Nicola came in on there and lucky we had Houdini's Doglost link on there when first lost. They always help when we have lost dogs in town :)
Plans for the BBQ in Dominics Close is on hold for now and as flightyknighty says they will concentrate on tempting Houdini to N's place.
I've got everything crossed for this evening although owners will decide whether to let Houdini come to the feeding station again on Sunday before trying to catch him. Would be lovely if he was home tonight though! - 2016-04-23 14:49 charlie and sooty

- After the searching had finished. Chrissie got 3 phone calls saying he had returned to Albany Road. The last phone call was he had returned to the garden where he got some food from earlier. Hopefully he has caught food left in the shed and settled down for the night. We are leaving him alone tonight so hopefully he settle down in shed with food and his blanket and we will pop up tomorrow morning. If he has gone the lovely owner has said we can repeat every day till we get him. So hopefully a feeding station in process of being set up and we can finally get him home.

- Went straight out after hearing he'd been sighted, spent a good hour driving slowly round the roads. Caught up with Tk and chrissie before heading home. Hollieberry the plan is if we see him just to watch and observe and contact owners straight away. Think sometimes members of the public believe they are doing the right thing in trying to catch him. Chrissie etc are doing so well under Clarkey's expert guidance. Let's hope this weekend brings the good news we're all waiting for

- Thanks Jan. Been trying to get the photo better for the poster page as was very distorted before!
flightyknighty: don't worry, it's the top photo that's important as it is on the poster page.
Good to hear of another new sighting but hoping he will not run too far. Could be that he is using that route to get back up to the Close, hope so.
I had a drive around Albany/Boscobel Rd Nth/West Hill/Filsham Rds and also Collinswood Drive and the Close again but no sign. Also checked out Kenilworth and Carisbrooke again in case he had headed back there. Quite possible that he may have gone back to St L Gdns.
Thanks to TK and all others who went out looking after the sighting.
At least we know that Houdini is ok and in roughly the same area which is a good thing. Bit of an elusive lad this one but we will find him ...

- Message on Hastings Dog lovers fb page about 30 mins ago ...
have been looking for a dog that was in my garden for around half an hour , it was a young german shepherd cross , wearing a bright red collar ... it ran out on to Boscobel rd north , but I have never met such a bunch of unhelpful people ... I cannot find the dog but will keep looking , but if this might be your dog , it was last seen running along Boscabel rd towards West hill rd ... I shall go back out soon . I will also let the warden know as it is getting cold and dark now :-( xx - 2016-04-22 17:32 ALI
- Completely agree that owners only go to St Dominics close, have to respect residents and keep them onside as well as keep things calm and quiet for houdini. Will try and get out over weekend to help look and poster Last edited: 2016-04-22 17:38:35 by ALI

- Any people that do want to help ring Chris on landline or first mobile number on poster then can liase IE someone starting in St Leonards and heading towards Dominics close etc. Chrissie knows area better me.

- Thanks flightyknighty. Good to have such helpful residents.
I think it is important that only the owners go into the Close itself as we want to keep the residents on board and enlist their help if need be. Also we do not want to scare Houdini off and away from here. I hope you all understand!
My thoughts are that a feeding station should be set up somewhere in the Close that Houdini would feel safe to go to. That way we will be able to keep him in the area. If we can tempt him to a feeding station for a day or 2 his owners may be able to catch him. I will have a chat to flightyknighty about this later.
I have just been speaking to Hastings Police and given them all the details about Houdini. They have just called me back and assured me that they now have him on the system and they have contact details for his owners. It's a shame the info did not get logged by them earlier although sadly this is often the case.
I have also contacted our local Street Wardens and Dog Wardens are aware.
If anyone wants to help then happy for you to search area surrounding St D's Close and also other areas he has been sighted as we do not definitely know if where he is at the moment. The most important thing now is to get as many posters up as possible .. we know that the posters are working to bring those important sightings in. If you need posters please just ask!
Thanks again everyone. - 2016-04-22 11:11 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Hi All, We just got another phone call from a St Dominics Close resident. He has a feeling he could be hiding at the end of the cul-de-sac and coming out when he feels brave enough. He did confirm he looks in good health but scared. He did say yesterday he was being swooped at by a big bunch of seagulls so that might be worth looking out for if see it happening in that area. He rang police yesterday and they told him they've had no reports of missing dogs despite us reporting him to them on Sunday. That's VERY helpful. Chrissie will be heading up there again later this evening and I've got 2 days of work at weekend so I can actually do a bit more to help.
We have LOTS of posters ( Handy use of a work printer ) If anyone wants some posters Chrissie will be heading there later. At moment shes in bed as she hasn't been well recently and is absolutly exhausted so text / ring her around 16:00 if want to meet up. Thanks all for all your help the posters around Dominic Close are having desired affect more will go up tonight and tomorrow. - 2016-04-22 06:56 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Thanks TK, Jcwar30 and AngieP. I agree about the alleyways and allotments, so many places Houdini cld use to get over to the Close. If he goes that way we would need some posters in Boscobel Rd North as well. A lot to do but would help even if posters put at junctions of the roads mentioned. If you need posters please ring owners as I think they have some they would give out.
TK flightyknighty works on the railways so they are already aware. - 2016-04-21 23:38 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Could he be doing a triangle St leonards gdns area, Gensing gdns, St Dominics close...
Good that sightings are coming in, might be worth ringing police and giving them contact numbers so that if he is reported to them again, they can contact owners.
Also, because he has been sighted closer to the railway (filsham area) might be worth contacting network rail so the y are aware and they can be extra vigilant. Network rail have been helpful to us in the past.
- 2016-04-21 22:27 AngieP
- There are also the allotments off Collinswood Drive up behind St Leonards C of E School, its quite quiet round there and there are places a dog could hide
- 2016-04-21 22:22 Jcwar30
- Hi flightyknighty do you know about the alleyways, between the back gardens of the houses on filsham road and collingswood drive ? There are a few holes in the fences to the back gardens and the alleyways are quite sheltered. I will keep an eye out for Houdini x
- 2016-04-21 22:01 flightyknighty
- I'll print out some more " borrowing " the printer at Work ;)

- Thanks so much Ali. Yes, it's a huge rabbit warren of an estate unfortunately! To be honest, if posters can go up in or anywhere around and imbetween where the sightings have been it would help. Will try and do some myself but not sure if I will have transport tomorrow.
- 2016-04-21 21:28 ALI
- Met Chrissie in St Dominic's close, her other dog seemed drawn to the corner part of the close, went off to coneyburrow and gleneagles to check it out.....didn't realise how big that estate was. Last look near the hospice after picking my daughter Jeni up. Am working tomorrow but will see if I get time to put some posters up
- 2016-04-21 21:25 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Went over to join Chrissie but no sign of Houdini. Bedding has been left in the garden of kind householder who let flightyknighty know he'd been seen. This will be checked in the morning.
Not sure of route Houdini is taking but cld be up Upper Maze Hill to Albany Rd where has been seen before & then through the Cuts to either Collinstone Rd or through the grounds of the big building opposite Jubilee Gdns, or he cld just be going 'cross country' through peoples gardens to the Close as he was apparently leaping over fences today in St D's Close and we have not had many sightings on roads.
Chrissie also went back to see if Houdini had gone bk to St L Gdns and will check this again in the morning.
So, I think you know what I am going to ask! If anyone is able to help put posters up in the new area he's been seen it would be a huge help. Maybe starting in Westerleigh Close (off Gresham Way) which backs on to St D's Close and Collinstone Drive please.
We also need then along Albany Rd, Filsham Rd., Collinstone Drive, Gresham Way and Rd & into the cul de sacs off Filsham ie: Jubilee Gdns/Merrimede Close, Filsham Hurst, Gleneagles Drive please. Unfortunately a big area to cover with posters but would be well worth it to keep the sightings coming in.
Can't thank you all enough .. you are all doing a great job and owners really appreciate it :)
Am hoping Houdini does not go further afield! Last edited: 2016-04-22 06:50:15 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2016-04-21 20:29 flightyknighty

- 2016-04-21 20:28 flightyknighty
- He had gone by time Chrissie goit there but police have been called out twice today to that road due to Houdini. Chris carrying out a bit more searching and has given posters to residents to ring us instead of police. Has left half his blanket with some food to try and keep him to same area. We are getting closer....

- Well done Georgiaa-s and Chrissie. So glad a new sighting came in and very pleased that Houdini is still in the area.. thanks to the person who called it in.
Posters are definitely working so maybe we can get more in through letterboxes in the area?
BBQ is a good idea but not sure if St L Gdns people wld approve! I haven't got any left now & not sure where to get another.
Chrissie has been leaving food in various places in the Gardens which has gone today but obviously could have been taken by other animals.
Chrissie will be back up there this evening.
When you see Houdini please remember not to try to catch him .. just keep him in sight and call 07486 902773 as soon as possible. Many thanks. - 2016-04-21 14:06 Sue - onestopalldogs

- Spent the best part of 2 hours searching with Chrissie this morning. No sightings, although we explored a couple of locations that Chrissie feels he could be laying low in. One was St Leonard's gardens, another was the little park with treehouse (not sure on name) and the church grounds opposite St michaels hospice. Sightings seem to go with Chrissies gut instinct that he's staying around that area. Flyers put through doors, and I think Chrissie is going to take some more out and focus on that area over the next few days. I've given her some sardines and I think she's going to take a BBQ or similar up there tonight.
TK sighting didn't say about lead- however the lead is dark and against his dark colouring it may not be obvious. I think Chrissie is hoping he's chewed it off.
Hoping food tonight will lure him out before the bad weather sets in! Come one Houdini, home time now! - 2016-04-21 09:30 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- So glad there has been a sighting, has he still got lead attached did caller say?
Might be worth doing bbq to try and lure him?
evrything crossed he is spotted again soon .. - 2016-04-21 07:42 ALI

- Thanks everyone. Great day getting all those posters up yesterday. Well done!
If anyone is able to put some posters up in Upper Maze Hill, Albany Road, West Hill Rd areas and maybe along the seafront & Warrior Square that would be great.
My printer's playing up but did get some posters done so hv put a few up in Quarry Hill & very bottom of West Hill Rd. Might be an idea to put some at Silverhill so locals who come in to shop there are aware of Houdini.
As we hv not had sightings recently Houdini could have moved further away from where lost, although I hope not.
I've been out since 4.45am searching but no sign of the boy. Beautiful red skies this morning but unfortunately a sign of the rough weather and rain we are due later/tomorrow. I'll try to get laminated posters done to protect against rain.
Met briefly with Chrissie and Georgia (thanks so much for coming all way fm Rye!) before they set off the search again. Cldn't join them as had to get hubbys car back to him.
If this bad weather comes in then Houdini will hopefully hole up somewhere so please check gardens, parks, behind garages/sheds etc. The time to search and keep eyes open again will be after the rain has stopped as I'm hoping he will come out and look for food then (poor lad must be getting hungry)
Although he is scared of people please remember that he may go to places they have been during the night/early hours to scavenge for food (like Gensing Gdns, St L Gdns, Warrior Square) Also anywhere there are dustbins (behind flats, takeaways etc)
I'm keeping everything crossed that Houdini is not caught up anywhere and will show himself again very soon. Many thanks everyone and best of luck today. - 2016-04-20 22:15 flightyknighty
- Thanks Sam and ALI for having a look. I get back from work at 01:00 and will be heading for Gensing Garden area and will be putting some posters up there. Chrissie is out at 06:00 with Georgiaa-s for another search etc. Just wish he wouldn't live up to his name!!!!!!!!

- Been out again for just over an hour before it got dark, walking around the park. Tried the bushes by The Lawn and the private alley opposite the park as I thought it was more quiet and not likely to have been checked. Good to see that there were lots more posters up. I'm at home tomorrow so will be keeping an eye out all day on and off and putting up more posters where they might be missing. I posted one through Gedges and the hairdresser, also saw the poster in the shop.

- Just got back from another visit, was in area for nearly an hour, saw the posters.....that's great, but unfortunately no sign of the elusive Houdini

- Sorry flightyknighty must go to spec savers .
Fingers crossed Houdini is found soon. - 2016-04-20 18:59 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Am working night shift tonight and tomorrow, so unfortunately cant make tomorrow am, I will pass info onto Clatkey as she is having some problems with internet at the moment..
Have shared onto Hastings Freegle fb page..
So hoping for another sighting ... - 2016-04-20 18:08 ALI
- Am out later picking up my daughter, we'll have a drive round the area to check it out again, really want the lovely Houdini home where he belongs.....you're all doing so well

- Just spoken to chrissie- I'm meeting her at 6ish tomorrow morning in carisbrooke road where we'll hash a plan. After speaking to Chrissie I'm not going to bring my boy over, as he's so attached to your lab I think it's best if we try and minimise (as much as we can) the dog scents so he can hopefully pick up the labs easier! Anyone else up early & want to join us- I'll see you then xx
- 2016-04-20 17:15 flightyknighty
- Georgiaa-s that would be great Chrissie is out then my wife. Give her a ring on either landline number on poster or mobile number ending in 773 and she'll meet you to organise where too look etc. Everyone else is welcome to do same if free :)
- 2016-04-20 16:46 Georgiaa-s
- I can be in the area at 6.30 in the morning to have a look about if that's any help? Is he likely to come to another dog (if so I'll bring my boy out) otherwise I'll head out alone. As said, any chance of lighting a bbq? More than happy to come over and do so tonight if you can't X Last edited: 2016-04-20 16:46:52 by Georgiaa-s

- Patlucky, I think Houdini is the dog at the back in the 2nd picture, you can only see his head by wall.
- 2016-04-20 16:38 flightyknighty
- The missing dog is picture on poster with my wife. You can just see his head popping above our black lab in bottom picture

- I've been keeping an eye open round the old College site behind West Hill Road - not far away and its a large space with gaps in the fence in places large enough for a dog to get through. No luck so far but I'll keep checking.

- Well done for getting all those areas postered, posters really do bring in info as Clarkey has said. You are all doing a great job, searching and postering.
will be good to get Gensing Gdns checked as the comment on the St Leonards fb page yesterday said he was spotted at 7am running north up London Rd towards Gensing Gdns, but at the same time he was spotted in Silchester Rd heading up the footpath towards St Leonards Gdns.?
Am thinking if possible later on this eve, would you be able to have a bbq cook something smelly like bacon if he is hiding out near to home it may draw him in the right direction, and also to have a blanket with his scent on it in your garden so that if he does find his way back, the familiar item may keep him there.
Hope some info very soon x - 2016-04-20 11:44 flightyknighty
- I have updated poster with a better image of Houdini and Chrissie. She's happy to be on poster. Chrissie was out for around 4 hours yesterday searching with our exhausted 9 year old lab. She was out again this morning searching and putting up posters around Kenilworth, SD Silchester Road area. She is heading over to ginseng Gardens for a search this afternoon and to put more posters up. I'm heading to work around 1230 and will drop posters off to shops in kings road and train station. Every evening I get back around 0100 from work and I search for around 1 hour. Hopefully all these eyes will spot him. Our neighbour above us mccayla is also helping Chrissie with search and had been a wonderful help as well as all you fantastic volunteers. We are all exhausted but will not let up until we get him back. Hopefully updated posters getting everywhere will help massively.

- So far I have put posters around Warrior Sq station, by the bus stops at the top of the station on London Road, Carisbrooke, Kenilworth, Silchester, Gensing and Norman Road, but will be putting more up along Norman, Kings, along Kenilworth and around Maze Hill tonight whilst looking before dusk.
Is there any chance that the poster can be updated with the much better image of Houdini? I'll be printing more off but will wait if it can be changed. - 2016-04-20 06:35 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Thanks TK and Ali.
Good to hear of a sighting flightyknighty. It's quite possible that Houdini has found somewhere in the gardens to hide up and sleep.
I was up at 4.30am so went out to search the streets to see if I could spot him. Have only just come back but no luck.
Those posters definitely need to go up as quickly as possible as I only saw a few that our volunteers have put up (many thanks to you) They need to be in prominent positions, at entrances to St. L. Gdns, along your road and all local roads etc. The more posters you have the more likely you will get sightings come in which is what we need.
POSTER POWER works and there can never be enough of them!
Come on Houdini, show yourself and let us know where you are.
PS flightyknighty Please let us know where you have put posters up, which roads/shops etc. so our volunteers do not waste time covering same area. I noticed the newsagents in Silchester Rd was open really early so please ask them to put one up on their door if poss. Might also be worth asking shops in Kings Rd to do this. Try to put posters at eye level or above and on telegraph poles etc. If on trees pls only use cable ties or tape. Thanks :) I am trying to get my printer to work & wl poster if I succeed! - Just seen this post on St Leonards fb page
I may have seen him this am about 7 as I went to work a dog that looks like this ran north up the pavement without an owner towards the gensing gardens on London road st Leonards. I was in a car so couldn't help but if it was him he was alive and looked well.

- Just got back, parked by hospice and walked down by St Leonards Gdns, saw footpath where he was sighted this am,walked aroind area and then drove down Kenilworth & up Carisbrooke, upper Maze hill on way home, only saw foxes & cats ..
Where the footpath from Silchester Rd leads to "The Lawn" there is an enclosed park tyoe area with tree house, quite overgrown in places, might be an ideal hiding place for him .. ? - 2016-04-19 18:54 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Good news that you have had a sighting, and that he is still in local area.
will have a wander around again later on when quieter .. Last edited: 2016-04-19 18:57:52 by TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex - 2016-04-19 17:33 flightyknighty
- We've just had a sighting of Houdini at 07:00 this morning running along Silchester Road up the alley heading towards St Leonards Gardens so can confirm he is DEFINITELY still in his local area
- 2016-04-19 17:09 flightyknighty
- My wife has spoken to all the work man and they are keeping eyes open. I'm coming home from work with 100 posters to put up post etc. Our other dogs been on a scent marking frenzy to try and encourage him home. Chrissie will be out again when quiter as hunger should overtake fear hopefully

- Just got back, Drove around area first, then parked up & walked down through St Leonards gardens, spoke to gardener who will keep his eyes peeled, loked under as many bushes as poss. then walked up around Dane Rd & around outside of Marwick gdns, The gates are all locked, there are a few small holes under the fencing, but dont think he would of crawled under, & is quite a busy place. Walked back down Upper Maze Hill & again checked as many hedges in gardens as I could from pavement. So many hiding places in all the gardens etc.. Lastly checked all around St Johns Church, checked out all the steps & doorways.
Had another quick drive around Albany Rd before heading home.
Saw a few posters down bttom of Pevensey Rd and London Rd, which is good.
Definately need posters Upper Maze Hill area, Top of Pevensey Rd, Kenilworth Rd and in St Leonards Gdns, unfortunately I couldnt get printer working this morning so couldnt print any of to take with me..
As owners say, Im thinking he may be hiding up in Gardens near to where he lives. I guess this evening will be a good time when all is a bit quieter..
Fingers crossed for a sighting soon, definately need to try and get mre posters up x

- 2016-04-19 11:27 ALI
- Have just come back from a walk round St Leonards gardens....no sightings I'm afraid. Just thinking has anyone spoken to the workman at the hospice as extensive work going on there. There are also lovely gardens and grounds within the hospice she could be hiding in
- 2016-04-19 11:22 flightyknighty
- We have updated photo with a much better image shows better size etc. Thanks everyone again. we have a feeling hes hiding in the gardens between Kenilworth and Carisbrooke roads. We are doing some more searching today and will continue until we get news either way. Cant imagine him going to far as even a carrier bag crinkling would make him jump.

- Went down to Carisbrooke and met up with Chrissie. We searched through the gardens and all along C Rd and Kenilworth and no sign of Houdini unfortunately.
However, am sure that he is trying to find his way home and he was very close this time. Problem is that he is easily spooked but hoping he will get back in the early hours.
I have added Chrissie's mobile number (07486 902773) so she can get texts if Houdini is seen again. - 2016-04-18 22:58 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

- Thanks for your comment flightyknighty and everyone else too.
Houdini is likely to head to places where he has been walked which I gather is all around area where you live (Carisbrooke Rd) Warrior Gardens, the beach etc.
Would suggest looking in St Leonards Gnds (where the big pond is), Markwick Gdns as TK says, and Gensing Gardens as well.
However, my feeling is that he may come back to where you live as he wl be able to follow his own scent back there.
If you leave some of his bedding and/or some unwashed clothing (socks/tshirt etc)
in your garden/by entrance to your house he may catch the scent and will have something familiar to settle down with when he returns. This is most likely to happen in the early hours when everything is quiet.
First and last light is best time to search.
When you search please look under bushes, in gardens in your area .. take a torch as his eyes wld shine if hiding in bushes etc. Bit of a worry that he still has his lead on but he shld be ok as long as he does not go in long undergrowth.
I think it best if he is seen to call flightyknighty as soon as possible. If you see him please try and keep him in your sight and possibly drop food to keep him in same area.
Hopefully posters will bring a sighting in soon so we know whereabouts Houdini is.
Best of luck with your search. - 2016-04-18 21:32 ALI

He galloped past us yesterday. Middle of the road Upper Maze Hill. Couldn't do anything as Connie was barking at him. Keep my fingers crossed that he is found soon.
Have asked which direction he was heading, although he could be anywhere by now, although probably hiding up somewhere & may venture out later when much quieter .. x - 2016-04-18 17:51 Hollieberry

- Thanks Chester1066, Patlucky, TK and HowAboutNo.
Sorry to see that Houdini has gone missing. Please would you let us have a few more details as to where exactly he went missing? I see that he has his lead on still.
I agree with Chester1066 that he is likely to make his way to place first walked (if you have had chance to do that!)
Although Houdini has only been with you for short time he may, like most dogs would, try to find his way back to your home so please make sure he is able to get back in.
If you see him and there is a suitable place (garden etc) to trap him in then you may be able to get him come to you.
I have sent you our Doglost advice by email which hopefully will help you with your search. It has some tips on how to catch your lad.
I have also sent you a text so please call me so we can discuss best way to help you find Houdini. Best of luck with your search. - 2016-04-18 11:13 Sam

- Really sorry to hear this - what happens when attempting to find dogs that are so nervous? My dog (from Romania) similar story, very nervous of strangers, made his way to one of the first places we ever took him (in this case, the woods). We covered all the areas we'd ever walked him. Perhaps this is an idea? Although if he's very new to the area he may not have been walked far yet? Shared on Facebook.
