He saw Kim's ad on Gumtree for missing Lola today. Emailed Kim to say he thought he had our dog. Photos confirmed, we all drove to Uxbridge and brought her home. Very overweight, seems to have been treated too well (!!), vets tomorrow, we are SO LUCKY and grateful to Kim, who put the ad in gumtree, made contact and came w

Brilliant!!!
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Wonderful...so so pleased. She'll soon run off the excess, bless her.

Fiona
Updating to say Lola well, but now 18.5kg instead of 15kg! Was lithe, now lumbering, but the same dog, microchip confirms, a HUGE weight has been lifted (no pun intended).

I want to say thank you to DogLost again, you are a fantastic organisation. We know that luck played a big part, in that the man who had Lola chose to get her back to us, but you gave us so much help, incl. with possible sightings, social media sharing and emotional support, while we were stressed out of our minds. People seemed to be there whether midnight or 6am. Amazing. THANK YOU.
Unknown
Great news... Lola will probably lose hner excess weight when she has the proper exercise. And the tight diet. Stay safe now closer:-) Am stil, praying for you Elaine (Tinker, and Hemp`s mum)

Still looking. Lola's Thunderclap comes to an end at 5pm today, please support it if you are in Greater London, Surrey, Middlesex, Kent, Sussex - who knows and thank you. Missing her.
Fiona
Nothing to report, had hoped the Surrey Comet article would get into Kingston Guardian but it's not there. There's only so many times you can ring an uninterested journalist.
Lola seems to have disappeared into thin air, the fact that she got out n the ate evening makes it harder to find people who might have seen her initially.
Fiona
New Malden Vets also Lola's, they have a poster up but we had just messaged them via Facebook with the link. It is good too to talk to the dog wardens, Nicky for Kingston area v pleasant and helpful, as are several others. Trying to keep positive and keep on being active. We may do a pay for ad in Kingston Guardian next week; just found out deadline is Tues!
Skywalker99
My vets (New Malden vets) have just shared the link to Lola's FB page so word is spreading.
Gill
Well done on Surrey Comet article, as I said sometimes they need a shove. Lets hope it brings a result.

Well done on the facebook page for Lola Fiona I have shared on her thread on DL Surrey page and it is working fine. I have also friend requested you on your facebook page. Well done for the article in the Surrey Comet today too - just in case anyone has seen Lola and does not have a computer I am sure this will be a great help in spreading the word that Lola is still missing. J. x
Fiona
Surrey Comet today, appeal for Lola with photo. Doesn't seem to be online (yet), I have photographed and posted to Lola's FB page.
Fiona
Had a phone call from a woman motorist approx 10.30am today, springer sighted running down Balcombe Rd towards HORLEY. Hair 'quite long' as per Lola photos, but 'wearing brown collar', so unlikely to be Lola. Anyone in the area or can post this wherever useful (I'm not yet good with FB) as someone must have lost their dog.
Fiona
I have created a Facebook page for Lola here
https://www.facebook.com/Where-is-beautiful-Lola-1606709246315024/

I have just signed up to Facebook to do this, have no friends yet! Julie could you help by checking that it works OK as a public page and that people will be able to share, like etc. Any tips?

I am hoping there will be an article or at least a photo in Surrey Comet or Kingston Guardian today, if yes v pleased. Someone may be looking after her?

DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I have shared Lola's thunderclap to Dog Lost Surrey facebook page. Keep up the good work Fiona - I am hoping and praying there is some news of Lola for you very soon. J. x

Fiona sorry to hear lola is missing my boy is also . Rafik is owners for two articles in get Surrey....worth contacting them to see if journalist will cover Lola. I have no idea how to access the waste ground behind the cemetery....lower marsh road would be my best bet. Also, are the football club and athletics club aware?
Fiona
Sarah Williams whoever you are, just discovered Lola's page on Thunderclap with 113 supporters so far! People are so kind.
Those two are not my springer (this is reminding me of a M Jackson song, sorry for frivolity).
Julie, thanks for all you are doing too. We have tried Radio Jackie at the w/e and they said no, but maybe we met the wrong person. I have googled Lola and facebook, ad she is appearing alot
And Kimmie, for phoning me every day and updating with all her search activities, you are brilliant.
If only we could find the poor dog. Today I wrote to the Surrey Comet, with photos asking them to cover it. We'll see. Kingston council say they regret nothing to report, but I think this is good news, highways incl the Kingston Bypass (A3)
Tomorrow we will set up a Lola facebook page. 1 hour/day target. That's enough.
Thanks everyone
Capegrace
Seen the two Springers on the Facebook page and sadly not Lola but one is Called Meg?
Capegrace
Just tried the warden in Worthing but no reply. Spoke to the emergency vet there and sent the dog.lost page to her plus your number Fi. Are you able to call the warden tomorrow?x
KellyPreece
Please check with adur and Worthing dog warden as two springers found today and look remarkably like Meg and Lola xx
annieb725
I will do Capegrace :) Sorry Fiona but have to disagree with your first line of comment !! Richmond Park is huge, there is every possibility she is hiding out there, straying dogs get very clever at staying out of sight - also I do believe there are people out there who dont understand about checking a dog they have found for an owner or taking to vets to check a chip ... keep all options open !!
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I have asked on DL Surrey page if someone could drop a poster into Radio Jackie and ask for help in publicising she is missing I have also shared to Barking at the Moon and Barking Blondes facebook pages they have a radio programme and am hoping they will mention her on the programme to raise awareness. J. x
Fiona
I don't think chatty people walking springers in the open are going to have Lola, and in Richmond Park she would have been found by now.
Highways England no reports, but do not cover Kingston bypass part of A3. Logged Kingston council Friday; have just tweeted them in hope of Highways being chased for reply.
A job to do: log a report with neighbouring councils Highways Depts. If one person could help with this (need time during day) would be so helpful. It is miserable hanging on to customer service helplines.
Dog Wardens are actively calling us to check for updates, I need to recheck other shelters I suppose.
Other help: a search posse? Skywalker, I realise I am not sure how to access the waste lands behind the cemetery etc. Can you guide on entry points? Woofs a Daisy (local pet shop) has offered to pull together some volunteers.
I am at work all day today.
CG/Av - we talked to bin men on Wed am when Lola first missed. Kimmie has a contact at recycling centre and has asked him. Perhaps I should log officially, I will try to do this at work today.
No bites from press yet but so far I have just tweeted; does anyone have local press contacts or could do for me? She is a pretty dog!
We are all living like zombies; but had first good night sleep last night since Wed.
TY to everyone, even just for kind thoughts, this is awful

Capegrace
Annieb725. You could just admire her dog and start up a conversation. Most dog owners are quite happy to engage when you admire their dog so you could ask some leading questions - male or female, how old, what's her name. Just go for it - I would if I saw her!
annieb725
Last Thursday when walking to Surbiton station, I did see a woman with a very similar dog walking past the Assembly Rooms and going the opposite way - bit awkward asking someone about their dog, but will try if I see her again
Capegrace
Yes, Isleworth! Went to Richmond Park this afternoon and looked carefully at all the dogs there just in case she was with someone else. Also spoke to a warden in the park who confirmed they have all been alerted and are looking for her.
Was wondering if you had spoken to the refuse collection to see if anyone remembers seeing her at the door when they collected the rubbish?
Fiona
SW I'll phone Highways Agency. Annieb thanks, she will come to here name 'Lola come' 95% (not if squirrels in area). Have logged with tracker as advised, not heard yet. Not at Battersea, as expected. Had phone call this eve from woman to say she had seen a dog very like Lola on Wed at Long Ditton Rec with owner throwing ball, dog wagging tail, asked male owner name of dog - Belle. Excited and ball crazy, sounds just like Lola, but I assume it was Belle! Capegrace TY, are you local?
Skywalker99
Fiona, I think you need to phone the highways agency as well, they look after the a3? Is there any chance of Jenny and tiga tracking Lola?

Hurst pool sighting sadly wasn't a springer :(
Capegrace
Meant to say, if there is anything we can do, please ask (Av)
Capegrace
Just to let you know we have scoured all the websites, racked our brains and are thinking of all three of you and sending love xx
Fiona
CCTV was a fox, just been to look at photo of footage. I think the manager just really wanted it to be her. Julie, thank you, yes logged with SW Trains (no sightings) and Council for Highways (no response yet). Today we have roamed the cemetery and walked along part of Hogsmill by FADA (Uni), and other areas as per skywalker. Met many incl. lady in community allotments, Uni caretaker, both will publicise. It is needle in haystack. My plan tonight is to tweet golf courses, local newspapers, all the wardens again etc, as a retweet could have big impact (MPS Kingston have retweeted to 10K followers). Now we are going to Battersea. We will keep trying. Thanks again as well to Judy of Team Teddy who searched yesterday and has just advised of a possible sighting by Hurst Pool??
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I have seen your comment Skywalker99 I am talking about Clifton Road on the route Lola seemed to be taking on the cctv in particular and the roads leading back to her home.
Skywalker99
Also, have you contacted Battersea? See on doglost Surrey FB page bedding in the garden, may. Be worth adding some more scenting (diluting you pee and spraying it, sorry sounds disgusting but supposed to work).
Skywalker99
Fiona, might be worth asking for volunteers to help you search this weekend. I am abroad at the moment so can't, cemetery et al is a big area. The worrying thing is you are close to the railway, have network rail been contacted?
Julie, there is waste ground in the area, see my comment below.Last edited: 2016-04-24 08:55:21 by Skywalker99
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
I was just wondering if there is any waste ground or empty houses along the route Lola seemed to be taking where she could have holed up Fiona would be worth investigating if possible. I am bumping Lola on DL Surrey facebook page and asking everyone to look out for her and keep sharing. J. x
Hollieberry
I really hope Lola is back home soon but if she is anything like my Spaniel she will have gone to ground.
Fiona
CCTV camera at Shell Garage on London Rd, by roundabout at Clifton Rd. Possible sighting 2am Wed, 3 hours after we shut her out. This is very close to home. She seems to have been heading back, as she left the forecourt and crossed the road towards the Black Horse Pub (used to be Kingston Gate Pub). It's not definitely her, we are not allowed to view, but may be able to get a photo tomorrow.

So this doesn't exactly give us a direction. She wasn't running, but moving fast. If onyl we knew what happened next. Going to the area now and the hospital with more flyers; would she really have kept going after a busy day with two walks?
Skywalker99
Are Kingston hospital aware? And the golf club..and have you checked the cemetery (good place for a dog to hang out). There is Lots of 'waste' ground along the Hogsmill to Surbiton lagoon (if anyone remembers the giant cannabis plantation that was found there last September/October). Contact www.k9tracker.co.uk, and mention Rafiki's name when you do...
Fiona
Probably not Lola but: possible sighting in Tolworth, in park alongside Alexandra Rd. Man smoking shisha pipe in restaurant at bottom of our road said he saw her 2 days ago, so Wed, when playing football. 'She was running around'. Very likely another springer, but I plan to go there late afternoon today. If anyone is near the Tolworth area could you put up a poster or two and/or have a look? Even if her, she will have moved on by now, hopefully not across the A3 (we have been in touch with Highways, not heard back yet)
Fiona
Martina, thanks for advising re springers on Gumtree. The two in the photo are not Lola. I really appreciate you taking the time to check with me. Anyone looking on Gumtree, Pets4Sale, PreLoved, I'd appreciate you keeping an eye out.
Fiona
Thanks to all of you sharing widely. Just sent Richmond Park all details and asked for advice on publicity as Debby suggests, no reply to phone yet. On a mission today, will look at all these tips. Such a great help, overwhelming as we simply can't do everything ourselves, help in spreading the word massively appreciated. Will go to Ham Common later with flyers
Debby Cunliffe
Shared public and tagged friends who live locally and shared to Teddy's group too as Chertsey not a million miles away and he had quite a big following. Seen posters up in Richmond Park today but be aware that The Royal Parks are likely to remove so might be worth calling them and seeing if they'll give you permission to put on the notice boards and to get their workers to keep an eye out for her. Also, I think there is a fun fair on Ham Common at the moment and the most recent dog to go missing in the area was found close to a fun fair (presumably because of the smell of food) so might be worth keeping a regular check there and putting lots of posters up in the area. Really, really, hope she's found safe and sound very soon. XxLast edited: 2016-04-21 20:47:58 by Debby Cunliffe
Wickenwoman
Have shared on some spaniel Facebook pages, good luck I hope she comes home safe and well
annieb725
still missing? Maybe someone has taken her in but not reported, I asked my cab to drive round that way late last night on the offchance but nothing
Fiona
Still no news. I'm back from work now (my daughter has been posting in meantime), will look at all these suggestions again tomorrow as so tired now. What a great idea bout the postman, I'm sure Dave our postie will do that. And will contact Rafiki now.
csquaredb
Add milkman and dustmen to your list Fiona, both move around in the quiet hours. Sighting of a springer, that Reynard mentioned below, was before Lola went missing, so not her :(
Skywalker99
you can email wheresrafiki@yahoo.com, or call the number on his doglost page
Fiona
Is there anyway to message Rafiki's owner on here?
Fiona
We have contacted all local vets and put posters up locally, but not thought about kennels further afield/ asking postman. Good suggestions, thank you.
DogLostReynard
Please join forces with Rafiki's owner 90424 as missing ( & possible sighted) in your area & a Springer was sighted possible 18/19 Apr TW11 , & Poster! poster! poster! Good luck! xxx
Esther
Fiona, have you, got lots of posters up? They really make a huge difference. People will see a dog and not know who to tell about it and if you get a sighting it will help you to get a rough idea of area. Try to ask people like your postie if he would put a poster up at his depot, posties walk miles and are dog aware ! Posters near schools are a good idea as well. Wish I was closer to help. Good luck
csquaredb
The kennels on Green Lane at Chessington are called Star kennels - 020 8397 5430
kimmie
she is used to walking Richmond park ham lands local parks latchmere St George's and canbury gardens
annieb725
Local vets? was she wearing a collar? DW sometimes sends dogs to Green lane kennels at chessington
Fiona
OK thanks, will call them tomorrow and keep hoping.
csquaredb
Not really Kingston area, but might be an idea to contact Treetops in Guildford (01483 572588) and Riverside in Beddington (020 8647 6230). Both are used as holding kennels for stray dogs and it could be that she's been picked up by someone who has taken them to their local area. There have also been issues with Petlog recently, not being able to process requests from dog wardens for chip contact details. Guess it's possible that one of the wardens or a vet may have her and have been unable to get your contact details yet.
Fiona
So much appreciate this help, thank you. Can anyone tell me what Rescue Centres there are i Kingston area. So far have contacted Battersea only.

Please contact dog warden, both for you area and surrounding areas so they're aware she's missing. Also ring round all local vets. Hopefully someone has picked her up and kept her safe overnight and will take her to a vets to be checked for a chip this morning. Fingers crossed
