- A great big thank you to the small group of DogLost coords, volunteers and helpers who did a tremendous job helping to get Pluto home. There are times when great big search parties are not called for and where careful planning, watching, plotting movements and waiting is called for. This is absolutely the case for scared rescue dogs who have literally just arrived in the country.Last edited: 2016-05-01 18:55:41

- Great news- I have alerted Wayne to thank Highways who were on stand by in case he got onto busy roads and were ready to put on a rolling block so those with permission in Waynes team could try and catch him.

- Thanks to everyone for their help and comments below, Michelle - I am giving a big pile of Posters to owner Lorraine tonight, so she will be able to update the ones that you mention, thank you.
Debbie, Sues we appreciate all the help we can get from homes and the good wishes thank you - updates from this DogLost Page / Facebook / Twitter feeds etc keep us up to date when we're out, so that's vital too . . . Bring Pluto Home is Lorraine's FB page and @Find_Pluto is Twitter.
Maybe we'll meet you Ron/Shelagh when we're out over the weekend - if you guys are out too, would be nice to meet you.
If anyone out uses Strava App on a SmartPhone - please let us know, we'll follow you - we're finding it really useful to log the routes taken and then being able to pinpoint where we saw this little fella.
Good Luck everyone and let's get this little one home to his family!!
p.s. Nik - good thing camera crew weren't out with us on our side, drowned rats just don't look good on TV, we got stuck in such a Storm
- 2016-04-29 11:54 Unknown
- Thanks to members of the East London and Essex teams for coming over on such an awful night to help with Pluto. The West London team were out and about but on the other side of the search area. Thanks also to Michelle for all her help and for facilitating the feeding station. We had a TV crew out last night capturing all the hard work our volunteers do, although some were very bashful !

- Anyone that's going out can you please either replace any poster with the new one or put a sticker on the one that's there saying that last sighting was on aldenham golf course as having spoken to local people today the thinking is he's not around locally as it's aldenham park which is not in aldenham village. I have done some already but still loads more not updated. Thanks everyone

- Hi just for clarification as I think my wording was somewhat misleading- search was never intended only spotters! There are no large groups of people heading over.I'm sure all of us are aware of situation with Pluto and only want for him to be reunited with his owner. Only people who are coming over is myself and another d.lost volunteer.
- 2016-04-28 10:41 Marina
- Hello
Just to reiterate Pluto is a very shy nervous dog.In the best interest of my dog please contact us if there are any sightings.Do not approach. If you would like to help in our quest to find Pluto please contact. Large search parties will spook him. Please, we need to be made aware of any groups that are collaborating. - 2016-04-28 10:39 Owl
- It is only too easy to scare a dog out of a safe area simply by an excess of searchers arriving and not coordinating with others. Please will everyone take note of what Karen is saying, and advise others accordingly? This is VITAL. Thank you.
- 2016-04-28 10:19 Karen - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- Have spoken with owner and we are very concerned that more people are being bought into the area to look for Pluto - he is very very nervous - we saw him 4 times on one particular evening and he stopped a few yards from us, but still wouldn't come over, even though we were silent, on his level, lying on floor with smelly food . . .
This location where he is currently is relatively safe - it is a small village with fields around, BUT a short distance away is the VERY BUSY A41 and the even busier M1
The last thing that is needed is for him to be frightened out of the area by lots of people and noise.
Thank youLast edited: 2016-04-28 11:11:51 - 2016-04-28 05:59 Karen - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison

- Can we please stress that Golf Course etiquette be followed when people are looking for this little boy. The Golf Club people have been very very helpful and are letting us use their car park and the groundsmen are taking our numbers in order to call if they see anything. We need to stay on the rough and round the edges of the Golf Course - please please bear in mind that this is a Golf Course - health and safety - watch out for balls! I know it's obvious, but we really don't want to upset the Club or it's Members - also, this little boy was so nervous when I saw him the other night - he will just not show I'm sure if there is noise of people talking, big groups being seen around - he stopped and looked at me, on my own and dusk, but still ran. This was at the 18th Tee. Hopefully will be down tomorrow too, but Good Luck everyone xx

- Sorry Michelle for late reply but just returned from looking for another dog. I meant that there is no natural food source in any area he has been seen. No rubbish etc for him too eat.

- We are just back from looking all around the areas he's been spotted in - nothing :(
What do you mean no food in sighted areas, do you think food should be left in all the areas he's been sighted in? Happy to do that but he's been all over the golf course and many of the fields. I did put food right outside my back gate (which backs on to the golf course and where I saw him walk twice yesterday evening) but then saw a cat eating it so don't know what to do now - advice please :) - 2016-04-27 18:25 Shelagh
- Been out all afternoon looking for Pluto. Searched woods around golf course, had a look cricket field and churchyard close by. No sightings although we did find recent paw prints. It seems like Pluto is moving early mornings and in evenings. We would like to arrange search for tomorrow evening.! It is imperative we find Pluto now. He has been out a long time and absolutely no food in sighted areas. If you can help in search please let us no.

- Have just come back from the area, was only able to get there late & for a short while . I saw Karen who has filled me in with all the sightings. This is so good, well done Karen you did all the right things, quiet gentle movements ,not chasing ,not calling ,just letting him check you out. This approach will keep Pluto in the area ,increase his confidence in returning to a certain spot & hopefully prevent anymore bolting off.

- Lots of sightings in aldenham today. As tempting as it is please don't try and catch him it will only make him run further away, just call owner and report sighting.

- The film crew that are following DogLost at the moment were with Pluto's owner today. Thank you, Marina, for allowing that. Nervous rescue dogs who go missing are a big issue and we are hoping to highlight it in this TV series.

- Update: Hertsmere DW, Lesley, says that she spotted Pluto in Aldenham Park yesterday but then lost sight of him. TRDC DW, Debbie, says that Pluto only arrived from Greece last Friday. He will be nervous, with the added problem that he won't respond to any English encouragement.
