Any update on the situation with this dog ?

13579 points taken lol. Has Maya gone missing before? Most of the time it is human error, a door or gate left open! I would not let my dogs off lead unless they are in a confined area where I can see them all the time and they cannot get away especially as so many go missing and never get home. Hollieberry they are certainly high energy. I have a lab/husky mix and he is very strong, my son found him in Spain abt 5 years ago. Brought him back to UK 3 yrs ago. My son now lives in Vietnam and the dog stayed with me, along with his other dog he left with me to go to Spain! Im a soft touch you see lol x

Rose I probably did not put my comment very well, I was not suggesting that the breed was aggressive I was just making a point that people do not research a breed enough before making a choice .As with all working dogs they are high energy and need a lot of exercise.

Rose you are right the dog may not have shown any aggression before but she might have.
She is now a killer and that fact can not be changed.
As for how she went missing how difficult is it to ensure that there is a secure garden so the dog can not escape especially if it is not the first time? If she'd have run away from the owner on a walk, what is she doing off the lead in an area where there is livestock with or without a positive recall?
We sometimes have to accept that things happen by mistake but we ensure those mistakes are not repeated.
People can always look for reasons to excuse things but sometimes you have to accept it is human failure.

Hollieberry, The owner posted Maya on 22nd as missing. Does not state how she went missing. She may not have shown any aggression in the past. Doesnt necessarily mean the owner chose a breed that was not suitable. Have not heard before that this breed is aggressive x

Some owners just should not have a dog or they choose a breed not suitable for them .Why is this dog listed as missing ?Last edited: 2016-04-24 13:27:33 by Hollieberry

Yes the farmer caught her in the act and when he tried to get her in the back of his vehicle she tried to bite him. He called the Police and took her to a local vet. The dog then tried to bite the vet when they were attempting to scan her and put a muzzle on her. What the vet said I will not put up here.
As the farmer said its not the dogs fault the dog is just being a dog but the owner will have a hefty financial bill to pay as well as having to live with the fact that many lives were lost due to their dog. But unfortunately for the dog now its done this once it will probably either have to be taken well away from the incident area or destroyed.
All for the price of a secure place to keep your dog.

The dog is lucky that she has not been shot.
She has caused so much devastation to a flock of sheep and their lambs many are dead and the Police are involved.
A lesson to be learnt here because its not the dogs fault she was only being a dog but she is the one who could have to pay with her life. That will be in the hands of the courts
