Thinking of you Aileen. xXx
terrierlady
just seen the feature in dogs today - there was an old black lab with white on his face in Stray aid council pound in County Durham - kennel name Kye - would appear he has only recently been rehomed this week but maybe worth ringing the kennels as they will know his history - he was on the stray section for a week so not a surrender.
jobadger
I think of this boy so often - I hope this brings news...xx
Aileen
Thank you DogLost, Dogs Today, and Sable of Lost Dogs-Scotland. xxx

Bumped due to possible sighting in Croy. Could anyone in the CROY area please keep an extra eye out please? A lone elderly black lab seen on the Croy football pitch on Saturday. It had a red collar on, but you never know. Ran away when approached. Thank you Helen Mitchell for the messages xxx If anyone sees anything, or knows anything- number is 07813022717, or Nairn Police 01667 452222. Thank you
jobadger
I don't suppose there's been many further news of this boy? Still thinking about you. xx

Bumped due to more press coverage today in the Highland Press and Journal.
jobadger
I'm still of the belief that he's been picked up. The sightings stopped at Croy. Ruorigh - wherever you are - stay safe - take care. xx
Aileen
Hi Job, no nothing. No sightings or anything. Network Rail called again to say they had looked again, and there was nothing.
jobadger
Hi Aileen - I'm just touching ground to see if there's any news on your boy? x
Aileen
Thanks Sharon, that's not our old boy- but thank you. Hope it finds its owner.

Me too job, me too. His picture is on the front page of the Forres Gazette today-just at the header, and a big story on page 5. If he is with someone- I hope they have a conscience and hand him in xx
jobadger
I think I'm relieved for you that the coastie's didn't come up with anything - that means he's still out there - with someone. It just needs one phone cal from one poster...... xxx

Bumped due to media coverage.
Aileen
It's going to be in the Forres Gazette tomorrow. That'll be the fourth newspaper he's been in with no results
Aileen
Tried that job, but no- they say it's 'old news'..not even three newspapers publishing it, and the massice FB group will move them. Coastguard didn't see anything..don't know whether to be relieved or not :-(.
jobadger
I'm sure someone has him too - and I hope you have some good news very soon. Thinking of you all. xx Might the radio not broadcast again now the coastguard are involved?Last edited: 2011-11-21 08:28:43 by jobadger
Aileen
Thanks Job. MFR were alerted right at the very beginning, but wouldn't broadcast it ''unless we hear from the SSPCA'' However after loads of messages and texts-they finally broadcast it for a couple of days. Today, the coastguard came to the door, and told me that they're out on the boats today, and they're going to trawl the river/harbour etc. They're going to tell me any news. Good, bad or none. They said if that even if they find him not alive- they'll bring him home. So good of them.
I'm starting to think that someone has him though, he can't have just vanished!
jobadger
Hi Aileen - I - and many others - check daily for any progress. Is there any chance of getting local radio involved? Someone, somewhere must know where he is - it might be someone who doesn't go out much and has him as a companion. xxx
Aileen
Tomorrow will be two weeks hes been missing, and I'm missing him more each day. He's got a huge following up here within a 40 mile radius and beyond. All kennels, Dog Wardens and Vets on alert. I phone them every day, and they're all wonderful-but no sign at all. That's with loads of people out looking for him.
Moonysmum
Here is a link to his Facebook page. The search goes on.

Nothing that I know of. Still hoping he turns up.
jobadger
Any news of this old boy? xx
Moonysmum
I think it must be Inverness-shire is IV2 and Nairnshire IV12. Croy side of the river Nairn is Inverness-shire and Galcantray on the other side of the river where I am is Nairnshire.
Aileen
Nairn is IV12(where i live) Croy is about 6 miles down the road nearer Inverness and is IV2. As the crow flies, it's probably a mile though
Moonysmum
Croy is IV2 but IV12 is only a mile away across the other side of the valley!

Croy is IV2 I think. Have double checked.
Moonysmum
Croy area is IV12
jobadger
Ohhh - I hope this is Ruaridh and he's home soon. I would hope that someone would take him in and phone immediately. xxxLast edited: 2011-11-13 15:03:05 by jobadger

have asked for alerts to be sent out to IV2 where the possible sightings are.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Another sighting in someones garden in Croy.
Aileen
Possible sightings at Lochloy Caravan Park, Nairn-and at the Marine Road area. Only possible but better than nothing.
Aileen
Thank you Moonysmum. Yes the vets and kennels around all know about it-phone them everyday as well. Got the rangers and forestry commission involved now too. Thank you for your help x
Moonysmum
Have found the FB page and circulated as promised.
Moonysmum
Aileen can you send me the Facebook link and I will circulate it - the link below did not work for me. I have asked friends who live in Nairn to keep an eye out for him. I do hope he shows up soon. Have you contacted all the vets in the area and Munlochy? I expect you will have. Thinking of you and your family.
Aileen
This will be the 6th night our old man has been missing. There have been newspapaer articles, and a huge FB group appealing for any information or sightings. Now offering a reward, but it's not allowing me to change the fields
Aileen
Still no word from anyone or anything. It's getting hard not to lose heart.
Aileen
The dog warden is off sick today, but they have all the details so that if anyone calls in- they'll get in contact with me. Phoned all the places again today a couple of times, but nothing. Seems as if he's vanished off the face of the earth. We're all keeping going though
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Do not get downhearted if you do not get an answer that he has been found at that time of day,as it sometimes takes the rest of the day before the dog warden picks him up, takes him to kennels and they call you, but if they have all the details they will let you know ASAP.Last edited: 2011-11-07 08:45:01 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Aileen
Yes, thank you. I'm holding onto that thought. The police have been great and very patient. I've to phone the council at 9am so everything crossed
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
In that case Aileen it is likely someone has taken him in. Hopefully he will be safe somewhere.
Aileen
Thank you, but nothing. Feels like the whole of Nairn has been scoured. Still sitting with my front door open though just in case. Fireworks still going off here so I don't think we'll see him tonight. Thanks for caring x
Zaksmum
Hi Aileen, I saw your details on here after reading the fireworks thread on MSE. Just checked in the hope you might've heard something.

Thinking of you and Rory.
Aileen
Hi Jo, nothing, not a sighting nor a word. I'm so worried now, I feel as if my heart's breaking. The fireworks have started up again, so I'm not holding out much hope of seeing him tonight. Thank you for your thoughts x
jobadger
Just checking in to see if there is any news on this lovely old boy. Jo xx
Aileen
Thank you all for your kindness, especially the co-ordinator this morning. Wonderful people! Thank you. I have set up a page for him on FB http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tinyman#!/groups/196610823750123/ I just want my old boy home now, he's been gone far too long, and he must be missing us so badly.
Moonysmum
I have put this up on my FB page and hopefully friends in the Nairn area will keep a look out for him. I hate fireworks - they cause so much unnecessary distress to animals both domestic and wild. Hope this lovely old boy turns up safe and well soon.
jobadger
I hope you're home soon, big lad. Your family must be frantic. I lost my dear oldie (2 or 3 dogs back now) for 8 hours overnight so know how your feeling. Good luck in finding him today. Fireworks are a blooming nuisance!!! Jo xxx
