Fantastic news, we're thrilled for you all. It sounds like Louis was running away from folk, just like our recent experience with Megan beagle. It's hard to get your head round why they do that but it's worth knowing the DogLost advice staying low and not making eye contact. It worked for us thankfully. Big cuddles from Linda, Steve, Megan and Jodie beagles xx

Sorry to hear that Louis has gone missing. We lost our Beagle, Megan, on the south downs on Monday afternoon and put her on Doglost. We received the scenting instructions Tuesday and made up 2 gallons using the contents of the vacuum cleaner and wee. We went back up to the downs at first light on Wednesday and laid the scent trail along the line we had walked, right up to the place where we lost her. Part way along we had found a good feeding point and put down food and her bedding quilt. We started splashing the scent at the base of trees and fence posts every 15 feet from the feeding point, increasing the spacing to 80-100 feet at the ends. We laid several trails as per the instructions and these included trails from the two sightings. We then quietly walked the trails and found her at 3.00pm the same day, having found and eaten the food. Megan was walking back up the trail in the direction of the point where she was lost. When we did find her she was very timid and we had to crouch down and avoid eye contact. After speaking quietly to her for a few seconds, she recognised us and came up to us. The scenting procedure works well with Beagles as they have great noses! Lay the trail as soon as you can. Good Luck!

Louis does not know the area very well as he was staying with family members when he went missing, the Dog Warden has been notified along with local vets.
I will E-mail general information including contact numbers for vets in the area, I will also E-mail scenting instructions.
I have added Louis's details to Dog Lost Norfolk and Suffolk facebook group and other groups in the area.
