I live in Somerset (just collected my dogs from Pitleigh Kennels by Wheddon Cross, Exmoor) and have just checked out 150 emails since arriving back from San Francisco yesterday. Sue at Pitleigh Kennels also takes West Somerset "strays" for boarding, so she is a useful contact for "lost dogs". AngelaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Winnie was found today! So happy. She was found wandering around not too far from home. A neighbour rang us and people were on the scene in minutes. She looks very well, seems she has been wandering around in the countryside for the last 5 days or so. She had a large meal and a bath and now she is sound asleep infront of the fire. A big thankyou to everyone that helped. Matt :)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have put a poster up at White Lodge Vets in Minehead, but have you phoned around local vets? Because, as we have found, there is no real system as such so people are pretty unsure on where to take dogs when found...Ring as many people as you can and send out photos to these places too. I wish you the best of luck!! Lilly X (Blaze)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Stray dogs in Somerset will go to St Giles Kennels in Wrantage, Near Taunton. I volunteer for St Giles and will next be there on Wednesday 7th. Hopefully Winnie will be safefully home by then, but if not I will ensure everyone at St Giles knows about Winnie and keeps an eye out for her. Come home soon Winnie.
