Our lovely little Piti (Persia), who went missing from her new home on 7th June, has been found killed by a car. She had a significant head injury. The vet said she would have died instantly, our only relief is to know that she didn't suffer.

Piti had been in the shelter for a long time, living most of it with one other dog, Negrut. Dora always felt she could be rehomed, even though she was shy and nervous, she had a lovely soul. She was a very sweet girl and we all hoped she would find a lovely family and have a happy life in the UK.

When she was found today near Market Drayton, she was in good condition considering she'd been wandering alone for over 3 months. So she knew how to look after herself, darling girl, but she was seen so many times near busy roads it was always a risk that she would get run over one day. We tried so hard to find her, so many people helped, hours & hours of searching and putting up posters, leaflets through doors, sharing on Facebook, sending emails. As always it was a team effort and it's impossible to thank everyone individually, you all know who you are, thank you so much for helping.

Piti's life was tragically cut short by this accident, but in her life she did know love from Dora and the whole Amicii team her room mate Negrut and the team at Forest Dog Rescue, in particular Sam who worked with her since April and loved her so much.

This is not what we bring dogs from Romania for, to lose their lives on the UK roads. Please let her legacy be that we all take more care, especially when new dogs arrive, and we give them time to settle and bond with their human family so that they don't run away and get lost like she did.

RIP little angel, we will all miss you
So sorry, Anne.
Sadly Persia was found today, hit by a car with a fatal head injury. Her microchip was used to travel the rescue. RIP Angel xxx
Sighting during the period 16-20 June on the car park at The Royal Oak in Alveley. Visited there yesterday, landlady confirmed definitely was Persia, she was trying to drink the water from the hanging baskets, lady took her a bowl of water and then tried to catch her, she ran off. Posters put up all over Alveley and Arley village yesterday and leaflet drop in farms locally. No further sightings.
Still no sightings for 5 days now. We have been over to the area handing posters and asking people to look out. Just don't know where to go from here as she could be anywhere :(
Thank you to everyone who has helped and shared - please continue - we are seriously fearing the worst now. Regards, Emma
