Olive`s owner gave an interview this morning by Alex Lester West Mids radio, 95.6fm about dog theft, and not leaving your dog tied up outside shops etc. Really good interview.Last edited: 2018-02-07 12:00:14 by janiejewel1649

With all the publicity, lets hope it stops another dog being left unattended and subsequently stolen.
I also hope whoever stole her, is dealt with appropriately - dogs aren't just a pet/animal they are part of the family.
Juls - YES! I totally agree - we must think about the very kind people who bought Olive in good faith and then found out she was STOLEN and returned her to her family. Juls, you were spot on. We are all so pleased Olive is home. xx
Lovely news , welcome home olive and happy owners , thank you to kind couple who gave her back and hope all stay safe and well x x
Terrific news but it only takes a moment for an unattended dog to be taken.
The Wilfster
So happy she is home.where she belongs

Night 13: OLIVE IS HOME!!! She is full of beans, she is happy, and has not stopped wagging her tail and licking our faces!!
We are now a family again and the children are absolutely over the moon, and we will all sleep tonight!
A thousand THANK YOUs to the family who contacted us when they realised they had our Olive and how deeply loved she is. With the reward they have received this will hopefully help them buy their own dog for them to love as much as we love Olive.
THANK YOU TO THE OLIVE ARMY!! I don’t know where to start!? Everyone has been truly amazing; family, friends, people we never knew before, but I can honestly say we would not have our beautiful Olive back home without you all, and for that we are truly grateful
For now, the awesome Olive Army, I’m off to have more cuddles with our Olive xxxx

From Olive's owner...
Night 10. Today Olive went across the airwaves. Thank you BBC Cambridgeshire for having me on the show today, so I could appeal to the person who has Olive for her safe return. At the same time raise awareness of this crime so it does not happen to another family as it is truly is awful for us all and I would not want this for anybody this feeling of helplessness and utter worry we have for her.
Olive.s owners will be on BBC.Cambridge Radio at 10.30am today..

Just a thought about your post below regarding dash cam footage. Would there be any local lorry/ delivery / bus firms or company's that might use that route past the bike shop fairly regularly? They would retain their footage for a length of time for legal reasons I would imagine. Might be worth approaching them?

From Olive's owner....
Night 7 - Tomorrow marks a week to the day our dog was tragically stolen from us. We will be in Chesterton at the time she was taken (between 2-2.30.) Were you there? (between the post office and haymakers)? Were you driving past and have a dash cam? or Did you see anything suspicious outside the bike shop? Please come and let us know. Any leads will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Today Olive went large. We have 2 very large banners up in Cambridge. One on the Chesterton road roundabout (thanks cats college) and the other on Histon road ( junction of king hedges road). Keep sharing and keep safe Olive.xx
Hi Doglover are there also two facebook pages? I'll check which thunderclap I signed up to and will sign up to the other one too. I've put a lot on instagram last night too. I'm checking Olive's photo in at a lot of different locations around the UK on instagram hoping it will get shared far and wide that way too. Am also tweeting heavily. Lots of Rt's for Olive. Word is spreading fast. Paws crossed #findoliveLast edited: 2018-02-01 08:27:15 by thedogfinder

I'm a Wood Green volunteer. Today I've had posters put up in Wood Green reception, Hinchingbrooke Country Park have put some up, both Cromwell vets in St Ives and Huntingdon and the newsagents in St Ives next to the Coop which is very busy. I will put some more around town (St Ives/Huntingdon) tomorrow. Lots of people commute in and out of Cambridge via the guided bus based in St Ives. xLast edited: 2018-01-30 17:11:32 by Marie Huggins
thedogfnder...there are two thunderclaps on the go for set up by the thunderclap team and the other by Doglost...I will check the dog you have added o Olives facebook page.Thanyou x
Not sure who set up the thunderclap - could the word "stolen" and the hashtag #findolive go on ? I've not set up a thundercalp myself before so can't speak from experience, forgive me if this is wrong! I can see there is a character restriction and I know you can persnalise it yourself when you sign up, I just thought maybe if these things were in the main body it might have more impact. The # is what could get it trending. Other thing is, should it have the phone number or link to the DogLost page? As not all people are on facebook and so the link may not get them to the place where they can get the contact info or more details of Olive. Just a suggestion. It looks like it is going to hit a million people or so when it goes out. I can see the photo and poster type thing on the thunderclap thing, maybe this goes out with eaxch post? In the past I have only seen the text as in what is in the box above with no photo. Might be wrong.Last edited: 2018-01-30 09:01:50 by thedogfinder
I'll share on twitter & will sign up to thunderclap today. I put a pic on the facebook page this morning of a sighted dog in Kingsway, Nottingham area. Hope owner has seen it, EmmaLast edited: 2018-01-30 07:45:03 by thedogfinder

Hello. Yes Olive has been spayed. We are devasted and want her home and therefore will pay more for her than the person who took her would get elsewhere. Please let’s get Olive home. It’s our sons birthday on Sunday and need her home for then. Please .xx

Just a small point. Yesterday seemingly there were no posters on the bridge to the common. This is where most dog walkers in the area go to. Maybe it's been done now?

Posted On DogLost Cambridgeshire Facebook group: SIGHTED ONLY. Spaniel type dog, possibly small springer. With tail. Maybe white and orange but quite dirty. First sighted in High Street near Classic Beauty, walking at speed in road (!) and on pavement towards church where it disappeared.
I have alerted Olive's owner
Paws, and fingers xd for her safe return Never a good idea to leave a dog outside a shop unsupervised. Hope this lovely girl is home soon. Maker her "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" Posters, Fb etc
Is there CCTV in the area which could help please?Last edited: 2018-01-25 12:08:48 by janiejewel1649
