Jayne, I'm working at the Surrey County Show in the poultry tent, on the 31st. I asked the poultry society committee if it would be OK to put posters up inside our tent for Surrey's missing dogs and they all thought it would be fine. We get thousands of people through the tent during the day. So how do I get a list of all dogs missing in Surrey out so I know which ones to print without going right through every listing? Thanks Eris! have just spoken to elderly owner and she says thanks to everyone for their help. A found Jack Russell bitch has just come onto the internet from Sutton area-not too far away so owner is ringing to get details.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I dropped off some posters about these missing guys (and Alby)to the Chiddingfold and Leconfield hunt kennels at the weekend. (well stuck the posters through their gate anyway) I kinda figured that terriermen the world over tend to talk to anyone they see with another terrier so they might hear something. Most hunts frequently run terrier shows. so it might be worth owners of stolen/missing Terriers to check out when their local hunt show is being held. Someone who has bought one without realising it's been stolen might well take it to the shows to try it in the racing or the show. Also Country Sports days attract dogs by the thousand. If you go to one of those without a dog on the end of a lead you tend to be the odd one out. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear of your stolen dogs. We were very lucky and our Max was only missing 3 days but I spoke to lots of people and heard several stories of dogs recovered after many weeks or months, so don't give up hope. I am also in RH5 area and will be putting up some posters of Ben over the next few days. Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just thought to add, has the owner contacted Southern Counties Radio about this? - I see from earlier post that they were indeed stolen. Neil Pringle or Ed Douglas are both popular presenters on the Guildford site. (only few miles from Abinger) maybe they could do it as a human interest story. ErisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'll print out some posters and stick 'em up in the local feed merchants near me. I'm on the Sussex/Surrey border but you know how dogs can travel! I presume they were stolen rather than just wandering off?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
