That is absolutely brilliant news! Del is obviously a resourceful little dog. I've only just discovered this site but it was great to take part in the hunt for missing Del especially with the positive outcome.

I think he must still have had his collar and tag on Jayne as I think all the postering was done around the area he went missing.

LOL Jayne. Owner did say that Del hadn't growled at him once since coming back home, so maybe this experience has changed his mind about men!! .

Thanks to everyone who has helped poster and search for Del. I would never have dreamed he would be found in Knowle!! Thanks also to the man who braved the freezing cold water of a lake to capture Del and get him safely home. Welcome home Del XX

Message from owner.....I have great news Del is home!! We had a call off someone in Knowle. Del walked across their patio at 9pm last night. When they went out to investigate he was so scared he jumped in their large lake, the man jumped in and caught him took him inside fed him dried him off and called us. I must thank you all at doglost for all your support and help you gave us at a very bad time, you guys do a fantastic job.

Hi Millie1 Firstly it would be good if someone could double check vets etc re Del. I think the owners have limited resources. I think the dogs name on its disc is one for personal preference, there are, in my experience, fors and againsts. I know of dogs who have been called away by children because they know the dogs name. But if its a choice between a dog wearing a tag with just its name and a contact number or the owners not bothering to tag, chip or tatoo at all then I suppose its the lesser of two evils. Also many people who produce these tags are not aware of the legal requirements and often wrongly advise well meaning owners. Hoping to see Del in the blue soon x

Thought I'd ask a general question about pet ID. My dog is microchipped and has a brass tag with my name, address & phone number. What's the general feeling about including the pet's name also?

Hi Thanks Tara9. That clears up the confusion then. Other dog walkers in the park had mentioned the nature centre. I have been looking for Del also but no sign as yet. I presume the local vets have been contacted?

Hi Millie 1 I spoke to owners and they told me about the sighting of Del running outside Lloyds chemist on the day that they lost him, they didnt mention the sighting by the Nature Centre to me.

I will not be in B'ham until Thursday but will put poster up at our dog training class which is in the Kings Heath area. If any sightings around the time I am there will obviously go out looking.

Hi I saw your poster in Kings Heath park. I heard your Westie ran down towards the nature centre. But this message board says he was seen walking by Lloyds Chemist on the High Street (which is the opposite direction). Can you confirm last sighting? I live in B14 and will also print off some posters. I presume you've tried the local vets? I will ask my friends in Kings Heath to look out for Del. Good luck in finding him.

I am at work today and Crufts tomorrow so won't be able to do anything so if any local folks can lend a hand sure owners would be grateful. When I spoke to them on the phone they were grateful for any help anyone can offer.

Have there been any other sightings? If not, would think that he has been picked up. The area is highly populated and very busy. Has owner tried Hollytrees Kennels on 01564 823244? They are not too far from Kings Heath. Keep safe Del and show yourself if you can.XXX.

Just spoken to owner, still no news. Del was seen running down the main high street in Kings Heath on the day he was lost, just past Lloyds chemists. Owners did not get Del locally so does not know area. Owners feel sure someone has picked him up. Owners have postered Kings Heath area.

Thanks Jayne. Owner doesn't have a printer but is going to get some help from a friend in IT today and get some posters printed now that the photo is on site. Del has gone missing in a busy area very near to one of the main roads into Birmingham. Any helpers in this area? Would be really glad of your help. Thanks. Sue
