This is a huge THANK YOU to all of you helping me to find my dog. He is home again, and I never thought the relief and joy could be so great. Dougy was found wandering in a woodland about 5 miles from home by a working party. They fed him a cheese sandwich and than brought him to the local kennel where I had put up a poster yesterday. The owner Linda put him into her car and delivered him home. He is tired, his claws are short and his paws are worn, but otherwise he is in good shape. Presently he is fast asleep. I am VERY GREATFUL I am veryLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

P.S. Get poster up at Gladwell's Mill feed shop at Washbrook if you can & all over Hadleigh. Also any Bank Hol events in the area. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jayne, got it! Owners need to poster everywhere - schools, park entrances, lamp posts, rescues, dog trainers, shops, pubs, newsagents, POs, car parks, notice boards and send to vets all around area (they don't always open emails). Also give posters to milkman, postie (ask to be put up in depot), refuse collectors, newspaper delivery chaps a.s.a.p. Sorry I'm not that close but when I'm in Dedham I'll get some up. I've sent posters to my friend who breeds Chessies here & also Linda who I think you know & who will kindly put posters up. I can recommend her with posters, she's put up hundreds for Jetsie! Good luck, hurry home Dougy. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

All I can say is don't give up hope. I am reminded of Kizzy who went missing for ages around here and then a dog lost helper & her hubby saw her and called the owner who came up and caught her .... that was quite sometime after too. Am truly hoping that someone will think that he is just a 'Bitza' and will take him to a rescue centre, or the police or something. The vets in the area need to be given a poster, as do the local pet shops, supermarkets let's just saturate the place with posters. Hopefully good news will come soonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was a member of the National Committee of Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club. I have notified them. I have spoken with the owner who is really worried and upset. I have given her the details of the Chessie Rescue. The facts are between 10 and 11 this morning the dog went missing from her farm. She has searched high and low for him. She has his brother with her. We are not able to do much but we are doing what we can.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope Dougy is home real soon. Please make sure someone visits holding kennels etc. as he may just be recorded as a lab - better safe than sorry.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
