From vets;

Hi Salli,

The finder has posted an update on our original post, so I can now confirm that yes, they have offered to take him on. He will have access to their home as well as the outdoors, and it is hoped that he will get used to some home comforts and choose to spend time indoors. He does of course remain a poorly chap, but he has definitely gained condition during his stay with us. and is such a happy friendly chap that we all wanted to give him a chance.

The posters and shares can remain up, as it would obviously be lovely if we could make contact with his original owners.

Thank you so much for all of your help.

From vets;

‘We do have an address to which we have composed a letter, to be sent special/recorded delivery) on Monday. Hopefully if they've moved their post is being redirected, but we're also acutely aware that the chip details are from 2011 and have never been updated. They could have moved several times since then (although with Wookie being found reasonably close by, hopefully they've moved locally).

We have tried to contact the registered owner via all other options given on Wookie's chip record, and checked with the implanter, who has no updated contact details.’

Salli perhaps if a letter was sent to old address they may have put a forward on their post.

Found posters now placed at found location (confirmed with vet), nearby Supermarket notice board and vets.

Messaged from a resident of nearby Baslow Road/Calver Close who believes a very similar cat (his wife is confident it’s the same cat) used to visit their own cats and believes it’s potential owners moved a couple of weeks ago. Unknown name or address to trace and uncertain which exact flat now under new occupancy.

Message from the vet if you don't have facebook

** FOUND CAT, WINNERSH, PLEASE SHARE **

This lovely boy was brought in to us on Sunday 3rd February by a concerned member of the public. He had been seen in the area for at least 2 weeks, but is in quite poor condition, so he could have been straying for a while. He is microchipped, but so far we have been unable to make contact with his owner via the information held on the chip database.

Unfortunately this lad isn't very well, so we would really like to be able to reunite him with his owner as quickly as possible. Therefore we are appealing through the power of Facebook for help in locating his owner, and to facilitate this we are releasing his name: WOOKIE.

If you recognise 'Wookie from Winnersh' please do get in touch.
