Very sad that the drone had no sighting of Archie ..,😢x
The dog sighted in Govilon was reunited with owner that lived in same road as sighted. Thank you to all of the wonderful people that jumped on this sighting and hot footed it to search in the hope it was Archie x

Update from Archies owner today:- ARCHIE’S ARMY

Ross Owen flying his amazing drone, firstly from our home, then from Pandy Park , took all care and diligence to search Crosskeys and surrounding mountain-sides, nooks and crannies, but no ginger Toller to be seen. Thank you so much Ross for all your effort, and Anthony Bailey for support.
We must say that we are very disappointed, but the search goes on, so please stay alert one and all.
We need Archie back on his sofa. Xx
I have seen the Neath Toller post has been updated as the dog has been found now, no other details
Thank you Ruth. The dog in Neath is definitely not Archie but we live near there and are making further enquiries about it and trying to ascertain if it's a stray.
on facebook 'lost and found dogs match-up' a toller is very thin wandering around bus station in neath. maybe connected.

Our volunteer Anthony Bailey will be there tomorrow involved in the search .. atm Anthony is sorting out maps and will be organising a safe search there for Archie .. x
Archie was apparently seen in Cross Keys High Street the morning after he went missing. Can anyone advise if this was a confirmed sighting? If the location is known accurately has anyone followed up by knocking doors there and asking for CCTV if any there? This point previously asked by others on Facebook but not seen a definitive reply. Whatever, my husband will join the search tomorrow.

Archie entered the water about 1km upstream of Full Moon Cottage (NP11 7BD).
The sighting was about 100m from Full Moon Cottage on the footpath on the North bank of the river and upstream of the cottage.Last edited: 2019-03-11 18:50:04 by Jill -Area Co-ordinator Wales.
Thank you Jill, will pass on this info to people looking. Kate Morgan-Lloyd has also posted the following info:- Have been on the phone and left details with Caerphilly Council who run the dog wardens.
Have left messages with Newport Kennels and Natural Resources Wales.
Have contacted Tosca and Newport Vets but need posters here.
Have contacted Cwmcarn Visitor Centre and given details but need a poster here too.
Anyone about to put posters up at the above venues?
Am awaiting reply from an Animal Communicator too.
Prepared to try anything.
Does anyone have contact with SARDA?
Thanks everyone, fingers crossed.
So is the cottage near where he went into the river or a different place? Confused

The sighting by lady in Cottage was yesterday evening ..this is the area that Heather has given me Archie went in about 3/4 mile from Sirhowy Park entrance - Post code - Full Moon Cottage, Wattsville ..... ..NP11 7BD

Praying this gorgeous boy is found safe soon.
Jill:- Volunteers on the ground are asking for the location of the possible sighting of Archie from the lady in the cottage and when please?
came from Bristol to look along by tredegar park, following the river.

Still no news yet although its looking likely Archie has made it to dry land given possible sighting of a lady in cottage there.. Anthony our volunteer has been there searching since 4.30am this morning and still there atm .. have asked if any drone help available from SAR via Maya Higgins but still waiting on news on that atm ..x

If a river search is needed, these guys might be able to help (or advise re local experts):
I’ve spoken with owner, they’re out looking following the sighting.

I checked along the area he went in to the water with rescue poles and I’m confident that he would have not been stuck under the tree which is across the river.

Does the local Environment Agency have an emergency contact number - they should also be able to advise on trap points down stream e.g. grids to catch debris, weirs etc.

A tip I picked up from Scotland is to place something of similar size & weight which floats in the river where the dog entered the water and watch where the current takes it - may lead to a stranding point or exit point where you can then concentrate your search.Last edited: 2019-03-10 18:04:49 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer, Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
