- 💥 MISSING 6 MONTHS TODAY 💥
https://www.facebook.com/haveyouSEENCharlie/posts/156621746889572
It is 6 months today since Charlie disappeared.
Despite searches by drones with thermal imaging, ground searches, many thousands of posts all over social media, articles in my local press and posters in the area he was last seen, there have been no sightings or information as to his whereabouts at all.
Difficult to put into words how devastated I am about what’s happened. Rehoming Cyprus Pointers group only exists because of Charlie and whilst I’ve still been working away every day dealing with enquiries, applications and everything else involved with running a rescue group, it just doesn’t feel the same to me anymore now Charlie isn’t here with me. I’ve mainly carried on with it to keep myself busy and to stop me from dwelling too much about what’s happened.
I’d like to thank everyone who have helped so much in lots of ways since Charlie went missing, and also really appreciate all the hundreds of messages of support I’ve received.
I think about Charlie every day and hope one day soon he will be back home with me where he belongs.
If anyone has any information about him can they please get in touch, there is and always has been a reward for his safe return. - 2022-02-21 18:31 Janice GSP

- Have there been any further sightings of Charlie in Swaledale? Is it worth posting a message on the Wensleydale and Swaledale Community Forum facebook page, if he is thought to be in this area?

- Thank you, posters have been put up in local pubs in the area and I have messaged Swaledale MRT this morning.

- Have you been in touch with Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team in case they have seen him on a call out? Also have you put posters in the pubs along the dale at Gunnerside and The Punchbowl Inn at Low Row which is further on from Gunnerside? This area is very popular with walkers staying at the pubs and in holiday cottages nearby. The Reeth estate is a huge area of moorland. The river Eden has it's source in the Upper Eden valley which is near to this area.Last edited: 2022-01-30 20:39:10 by Border Terrier & Cocker Spaniel Fan

- Please may we have alerts sent to DL11 postcode? The sighted dog is not confirmed to be Charlie, but searchers and drones are out as the dog needs to be brought in anyway.

- I have bumped Charlie's page to top of site, to draw attention to this sighting. Checked the map, and it is about 60 miles away from where Charlie went missing. Considering the distance a GSP can cover, that is quite feasible over the course of a month. Good luck Janice.

- There was a sighting at 4pm yesterday at Gunnerside, North Yorks DL11 of a liver and white pointer near Gunnerside Beck. The lady only saw it from a distance but it looked skinny and as if it had been fending for itself for a while. Details have been passed to people in the area to see if he can be located.

- Thanks Kev, I go down every day looking about but no sightings of Charlie at all since he went missing. Was there again today for a couple of hours. I'm sure someone must have taken him as there would have been sightings of him before now if he was still in the area

- Hi Janice, I'm local to the area and have a day off tomorrow. Is there any way I can help with the search? If there is an area you would like me to help search please let me know. My fingers are crossed for you

- Thank you, he must be somewhere, he can't just have vanished. Just keep hoping we hear something soon about my very special boy as this is heartbreaking. Went back down again this afternoon, the river level was very high and partly flooded as alot of rain last night. Checked around at the area as much as I was able. Still no sightings anywhere.

- Article was in print edition of local paper yesterday but nothing has resulted from it. If someone has taken him from Tesco car park it might be people from outside the local area as car park is next to junction of the M6. Need to try and get national media to cover the story if anyone has any contacts that could help. Been back down searching again this afternoon and still no sightings.

- Checked all round the area again today and met other people also out searching but still no sightings at all. Now thinking someone might have found him shortly after I'd lost him and taken them home with him. Will contact local newspaper in the morning to see if they will run a story about him and will also offer a reward. Have also shared this info on local facebook groups. Checked to see if there is any cctv where I park my car in case that might have spotted something on Tuesday but there isn't. Will keep checking the area where I last saw him every day and also that posters are still in situ.

- Been back again this afternoon with my other dogs, checked in other direction down to golf course area but still no sightings. Will go back again tomorrow.

- The area was checked by a drone yesterday, people out searching and I've put posters up and still no sightings at all. Been back this morning and checked all along the river bank in the opposite direction away up under the motorway bridge and then crossed over to the fields and checked hedgerows all the way back down and nothing there either. He just seems to have vanished.

- I've been checking all round the area since he went missing, been right the way down the river to the sheepmount and in the other direction along to under the motorway bridge but no sign of him anywhere. He knows the area really well as go there every afternoon. Local dog warden and nearby vets aware.
