Is there still no news on Meg? I still check Megs page. I know it probably won't make you feel any better but there has been a few dogs reunited after several months of them being missing. Still keeping fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Zoe - nothing really to report - not sure where she is but haven't given up all hope of finding her again. Thanks for asking. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there - first opportunity to get on line - haven't put a message on as really nothing to add. Had a couple of phone calls over the weekend which I followed up but not sure if they were Meg or not. Haven't given up hope though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry that the trail seems to have gone a bit cold. I am sure that jane will come up with some good advice....i am a bit new to all this. It would seem that you couldn't do more than you are doing at the moment if you are monitoring the house all the time. The offer will always stand if you need an extra pair of hands at any stage. I am a bit limited as to when i could help but you only need to ask.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
meg's mum
Hi Zoe - Jayne rang me last night but I was out (you can guess where) - will give her a ring tonight and see what she suggests. At present have at least 6 people watching the house at any given time and still no sign - so may be mistaken - either that or they've panicked and passed her on - can't think why though as she's not young is spayed and is not your average staffy as she's frightened of absolutely everything/one. Just have to keep bashing on though.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How frustrating for you. Don't really know what to suggest short of camping outside said persons house until you get a sighting of Meg! Have you tried asking this persons neighbours if anyone has seen anything, or the postman is often quite a good bet as well. Sorry i don't have anything really constructive to offer, maybe asking Jayne (Doglost) would be an idea as they are dealing with this all the time. Keeping fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
meg's mum
Hi there - first chance to get back on-line as not on net at home. Pretty sure that someone has taken her in - also pretty sure that we know who this is but cannot prove anything (yet). After a bit of advice really as don't know how to play this now. Have confronted said person who denies all knowledge and I may be barking completely up the wrong tree but several things do not add up. What would you suggest. Any ideas welcomed. ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She seems to be enjoying her new found freedom as appears to have taken up residence in Saltdean - she enjoys playing tag with the locals. Will get her back by hook or by crook.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Glad that you have had another confirmed sighting...it surely must be only a matter of time before you finally get her back. At least you know that she is still in your area. Good luckxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
meg's mum
Now have a definite (confirmed) sighting of her in Saltdean (about 3 miles from home), so if any of you are in that area please can you keep your eyes open. Major problem is that well-meaning people keep trying to catch her and this has just resulted in her running further away - unfortunately she is running further from home each time. If anyone does spot her could you just ring 07710 594056 and I'll race over there and try and get her myself. ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I also now have a sighting (pretty definite although I'm not too sure it can be her) at Portslade being walked by a resident of a homeless refuge. Am following it up but not sure how feasible.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there - for anyone who gets the Newhaven to East Saltdean edition of the Sussex Express apparently she's in there today. Haven't seen it myself yet but supposed to be on page 3 or 4. Someone out there must know where she is.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know that I would do the same if either of my boys went missing. At least you know that you are doing all that you possibly can to get Meg back. Any publicity is good publicity and the more people that see the posters and any adverts/features in the local papers the better. It may just jog someones memory. Good luck and am positive that all your hard work will pay off in the end.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Back on line now - had Wednesday off to go Meg hunting. Met some very helpful people and made lots of new doggie friends. Have put an ad in the Leader (probably not in until next week now though). Also hoping to get a piece in the Argus - although the journalist I need to speak to is away this week. Spending an absolute fortune - and before anyone asks - yes she is worth it. Will keep you up to date with any new news.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still looking - kindly had a phone call from doglost last night but not sure who exactly rang me - I was out looking for Meg at the time and didn't get back until very late - so thanks for all your support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm really pleased that she is still in the area and has been spotted - got to be encouraging news for you. Good luck with the camping out - sounds like you are doing everything that you can - it can only be a matter of time until you get a sighting of her. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
meg's mum
She was spotted in Telscombe Cliffs again (Chatsworth Park area - a couple of miles for home) on Saturday but this is such a vaste area with loads of places she can hide. She's much too scared to let herself be picked up by anyone so at the moment I'm more or less camped out there hoping she'll show herself again. Same as you I only have internet access at work. Thanks for taking the trouble to keep asking after her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Megs Mum - Was just wondering if you had any luck over the weekend - any sightings or anything - she must be out there somewhere. Please ask if you think that there is anything that i can do. I only have computer access while i am work as well but am checking the site several times a day.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry I am to far away to help you look for Meg, but please don't rely on the police saying they haven't got her. I would advise you to find out where stray dogs in your area are taken-from the police, RSPCA and dog warden and make a personal visit to the kennels armed with a photo. We found Jet at a RSPCA kennels after they had denied having him when we initially phoned! Hope this helps- good luck! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi to you all. Thanks for offer over weekend Zoe - will get back to you Friday as can only use internet at work and am off looking for her again tomorrow (Thursday). Raystede know but haven't tried KITT yet. Have just rung dog wardens again but still no luck. Fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry - forgot to ask if you had contacted Raystede Animal Rescue Centre (Ringmer) and also Kit Wilson (Hadlow Down). I am sure that these places have already been covered but just a thought. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Megs Mum - sorry that there is no positive news on Meg yet. I could offer you two or three hours either Saturday or Sunday lunchtime if you needed me to (although hopefully she will be back home by then). I don't know the area at all but would happily give it a good go if you pointed me in the right direction. Not sure if you still have my mobile number - if not, you can always reply via this page or private message me. Still have my fingers crossed - she is obviously a tough cookie.xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jane - I had thought about "crossing the river" as it were so any help Seaford side of the river is greatfully received. I'm defintely not giving up hope yet - she's out there somewhere and I'm going to find her. She was a stray originally and had been badly treated and when she came to me I promised her I'd look after her so I can't let her down now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Megs Owners - Have printed off a poster to give my mum & dad as they live in Seaford - will ask them to pass the message around their dog-walking friends. Good luck & don't give up hope - my dog was found after two weeks! Jane H.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for everyone's help - won't give up until I find her. This is a ghastly emotional roller coaster - god knows what it's like if you lose a child! I think Meg's still in the Newhaven/Peacehaven area and have sightings at Telscombe Cliffs (primary school and Tesco Express shop) and Southdown Avenue area of Peacehaven - close to the cliffs. Also reports from the Sainsbury's garage at The Drove in Newhaven that a similar dog had been picked up by the police but Newhaven Police station know nothing about it. Will be eternally grateful for any help in finding her. Many thanks Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
