Dave's photo is in todays Daily Telegraph newspaper along with many long time missing dogs.

Hi Paul, I will be amazed if that isn't Dave, i cant stop comparing the piccys, ive even got laminating sleeves(cos i didnt have any tracing paper) and put them on the screen blown the pictures up and drawn around the shapes! and to me they match , there are some very slight differences but only slight and that could be becuse of wieght loss ,how mad is that !its driving me crackers if its not him he has a double!!! please let me know how you get on , fingers crossed! hi chris i have spoken to paul at the rescue centre and the dog they found was not castrated as you can just about see in the pics whereas dave had just been castrated when he went missing. i have studied the pics together and as you say they are very similar although i can spot some slight differences. i really appreciate your help and i hope this boy is well cared for.apparently he was claimed and has gone back to rhyl. i still feel dave will come home one day.hopefully the tattoo will help trace him. thanks again

Hi there , He does look so much like your Dave , I saved the pictures and put them side by side and i was amazed at how the markings are so much alike . You said on your message that Dave was not castrated ,he could be now ? if hes been picked up before the animal rescues usually have them castrated . I cant believe they didnt check him for his tattoo! I do hope its him and that he can come home . If you need any help this end please let us know you have our number we dont live far from the kennels and perhaps we could go and check him out for you if they could arrange that for you .Did you say he had a scar on his foot? good luck !let us know how you get on . I am sorry I dont't know your area but there a site worth checking out as it has pics of found dogs and have a few boxers. in Basildon a Boxer dog for sale 17months old, red & white. excellent guard dog.friendly too, well trained but Not used to children. no papers but is full pedigree. ?100 or reasonable offer i know age is wrong but in the same sort of area.

Have you contacted the breed rescue's? Perhaps he went through one of them? There is Essex and Lincs Boxer Rescue, Thames Valley BR and London and Home Counties Boxer Welfare. I'll put the word out on the chatty UKBoxerdogs yahoo group. Hope Dave soon comes home.

Dave does have very distinctive markings & he seems to be really big for a boxer hopefully this will help identify him more easily, Dave has been missing a while now so whoever has him won't be hiding him away, I really hope you find him Paul Dave is absolutely stunning boxer & looks quite a character xxx yvonne

hi there, to clarify the situation dave has been missing since nov 4th 2004! despite extensive postering and publicity at the time including the bbc inside out programme i never had any news at all. i know he is out there somewhere, he is tattooed and has that distinctive mark on his chest. he is also big for a boxer and very lively!he would be about 3and a half now. unfortunately i discovered dog lost a week or so after he had gone. the secret is to get on there straight away and publicise big time to deter the thieves. thanks to all the dog lost team and never give up hope. paul the cabbie.

Saw a similar dog at Battersea dogs home yesterday-but the very efficient staff had already checked and markings were different. Good to know they check this site daily.

I'm sorry to see Dave is missing, and I hope he comes home safely soon. Have you tried putting something in your local news paper, sometimes that helps to locate lost dogs. I'll store your number on my mobile phone just in case, I'm always in that area so I'll keep a look out for him for you.

Hi I dont know Essex too well but I recognise some of the places because of a friend of mine who is involved with a league that is held most Sundays with teams from all over Essex and London so I have sent Dave's poster to her to display at the venues they are to use this Season. I know some of the players and they own Boxers (as I do) so I know they will take an interest......Jan

Hi Paul sorry about Dave was he stolen im in the bromley petts wood the kent area some time the dogs are moved on i will keep my eyes open are you the taxi Driver, ........we had our pug cilla stolen last august 2004 she has not been seen we can only hope that one day she will come home save and well, i so hope dave is being well looked after but it time for him to be home with you and your family ,anyway keep in touch take care ...suexxx

I think you should start postering again, a hurtfull and grulling process (Maybe ask Jayne to re word it with still missing etc) but i think worth while just to jog peoples memories and try vets etc maybe in a 20 - 30 mile radius they might think you have him back by now!! lol daisy xx

Paul i have found your page and what a beautiful boy he is!! Fear not we will find him!! I need to look at a map to pin point were he was taken and try and work out realistically which areas are worth looking in. Are there areas with large council estates near you or gypsie camps?? When i was taking my Dog to my Vet at London road Benfleet, I took this Poster with me, but you had beaten me to it! The Nurse told me what had happened, cannot imagine what you and your family must be going through, we will be looking at all Boxers we come across from now on. This shows that this site really works. We do hope you find your Dave.
