Sam's owners have been found. I was taking him out for a walk when a man came running shouting Sam's name. Whilst he let Sam out last night he didnt notice that the gate had been left open and Sam made a run for it. Sam is now back safely in his own home with his owners :o)

K.Hibbert, great you have had him now scanned and he is chipped. Wonder if he was being looked after while owner is on hols and that is why there is no answer.

You are doing a fab job looking after him he is a lucky boy. Keeping everything crossed there is an answer or someone is looking for him and not contacted the right people yet. Good luck. Jan x

We have just had his chip scanned and his name is SAM. Hes registered to Bacup, about 30 miles from where he was found. The company who made his chip have stopped making them, so its a very old chip. The mobile number is goingstraight to answer phone and the land line is ringing out. The vets are going to keep trying to get hold of someone. Im expecting a call and visit from the dog warden any moment now.

He was found at 8.30pm but the local kids didnt bring him to me till 10.30pm. Im getting him scanned this morning to see if there is a chip. Hes is such a lovely but nervous boy. I had to put a lead on him to get himto go in the garden this morning. He also has a broken fang. He had his breakfast without a problem.

I would check with your local vets to see if he is known to any of them. (You've said "No" to him having a microchip and, as he was found at 8.30pm last night, I am assuming that you haven't already been in touch with them?)

Maybe he has hip dysplacia. If it is this he will need medication. I hope he finds his owners soon. Liz xx
