Springer Rescue Lincoln UK
You spoke to me about a dog I had at Springer Rescue - Lincoln. I advised that you listed him on the correct breed. I know you think he is a cross with a Field but wouldnt you have more chance of ppl searching for a dog they have found on a more popular breed i.e the english spriinger spaniel?????!!!!!!! Badly bred Springers come looking like cross breeds sometimes, ppl often think they are crosses of BC's or other types of Spaniel. Just trying to help as I really feel for you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sue, Have sent message about the bitch sorry I have found your page and realise that I am wrong. Someone in this area has lost a young bitch and I am not sure who. Have you heard of anyone because there is one in the dogs home at Freshfields. Sorry no news on Pepper. We could do some things together if you like. How about a joint advert in the Countryman magazine where people look for Gun Dogs. Call me if you are able.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sadly Bongo & Pepper are not the same dogLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Mayhew
Hiya Sounds like it could be him, very difficult to tell though, not sure why his pics not come up yet on the found section, their probably swamped and haven't had the time yet. Please email me at lisag@mayhewanimalhome.org.uk and I return your email with pics of Bongo. Bongo's face is the same as Peppers although the white stripe is thicker. He's mainly white one large black patch over shoulders one black patch over hind. 2nd half of his tail incl tip is white, only other black patch is around left elbow. white legs with black spots. Rest of body white with some black flecking. Feathered ears tail and legs. White tummy. Not neutered when he arrived although he is now!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Pepper's owner
The picture was taken 5 months ago, so his face has matured but the stripe remains quite thin until the white patches around the nose. He is mostly white except his head and a big black patch on this back. He also has black flecks through his coat and black spots on this front paws. The black hair is longer than the white hair. He is quite short for his breed, has fringing on this tail and legs, curly ears, but is otherwise quite smooth coated. His tail is undocked and he has not been castrated. Hope this fuller description helps. Thanks again to everyone who is looking out for him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Mayhew
Is the picture shown a recent picture of Pepper, only reason I ask is the Mayhew has a similar stray dog brought in - spitting image apart from having a thicker white stripe???? A photo of him has been emailed in to this site so please keep an eye on the found dog section. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please don't loose hope. There are lots of people whom you don't even know who are helping to make people aware of Pepper being missing. Mac the springer has just got home after quite a while. ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had a message today from Alison Wright the chief exec. at St Edmundsbury Council, she has circulated Peppers' details in the weekly staff newsletter. Hope this helps. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have had no news of pepper at all as any sightings have turned out to be different dogs. We have widened our search to virtually the whole of suffolk but we are, I'm afraid, beginning to lose hope.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Action Desk is FUNDED for the local community. They are there to help and they specifically mention lost dogs. If no joy, then a complain to the CSV's regional broadcast officer is in order. How about the local papers ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have e-mailed poster to dog wardens at St Edmundsbury, Mid Suffolk and Babergh Councils. I haven't seen any travellers between Woolpit and Rattlesden, but will keep an eye open.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone seen any new travellers in the area? There were a group between Rattlesdon and Woolpit. Might be worth having a look to see if Pepper is with them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Upped pressure on Suffolk Radio yesterday after no interest by Action Desk on Monday - sent personal emails to all presenters and even had a reply from Lesley Dophin! Can anyone tell me if they have heard this over the air? ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry that it wasn't Pepper. Will be out postering again this morning, hope you get a sighting soon. Keep checking with the rescue kennells, have you spoken to Wood Green. If picked up he may have been taken further afield as the local kennels get pretty full at Christmas Time.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have been out this morning postering Woolpit, Rattlesden, Felsham,Gedding the Bradfields and Cockfield. Have also given the poster to several friendly farmers who have promised to relay message to others. As this is such a rural area try all the riding stables. Will try to do some more tomorrow. Hope this helps bring Pepper home. Sue Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've crossposted to Spring Thing. Is the picture really of a similar dog. I would expect a field spaniel at 10 months to be a much lighter built dog than the picture. However - people I know are now alerted to look our for any "new kid" on the block - ValLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
