Hi im very close to Bilston so I will have a drive down tonight, but I must say that the distance is vast between Huddersfield and Bilston. Although saying that quite a few travellers do frequent Bilston, but there are also lots of estates down there that let their dogs run wild so I wouldnt get your hopes raised too high. Good luck and if she is there I will bring her back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been sent a possible sighting of Holly... Details are as follows... On 3rd September, a white and tan (from what was seen) rough coated Jack Russell was sighted at 8am trying to cross the A41/A463 in Bilston, West Midlands. Non residential so not an area you'd expect to see a dog on it's own A helper thought this dog may be Holly and asked her friend to look at Holly's photo. She didn't get a very good look at the dog but she said yes, from what she saw the dog looked similar to Holly. Bilston is a fair way from Huddersfield, by Wolverhampton, but stranger things have happened. Apparently, the exact place of the sighting was just as you turn onto the A41 from the A463 heading towards Birmingham. Please keep looking for Holly!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did a door to door leaflet drop in Lepton yesterday which was very positive as, by evening, we'd have a couple of calls from residents claiming they know the dog that has been seen. It looks very much like Holly. One of the callers was the dogs owner who says that she couldn't believe the resemblence of her dog and Holly. I asked if she let it wander and apparently, the dog will escape at every available opportunity. So... again, it looks very much like this wasn't Holly but the ladies dog that has been sited!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Haven't heard anything about Holly for weeks now up until yesterday (12th August). A young girl called me from Lepton village (not linked with the lady who'd phoned previously) to say she believes she saw and stroked Holly on Wednesday 9th August. It wasn't until she saw our missing poster in the local shop yesterday that she realised it could have been Holly. This dog was seen in the same area the other lady had seen it. Both myself and my Dad went at different times yesterday evening driving round looking for her. Going back today but to walk around on foot with Holly's mate 'Digger'. Also going to take some missing leaflets and do a door to door drop to see if we can eliminate whether this is a stray, somebody's pet or perhaps Holly who has been sold on!! Fingers crossed xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Since putting the posters up last week, we have had no further calls about the dog which had been sighted so we are quite confident it wasn't Holly and that it was somebody elses pet! Other than that, we have had no other calls with any information. My parents don't have access to the internet which is obviously why I'm posting but they have asked if I could just thank everybody for their support and well wishes in finding their 'little girl'. She is one little dog, with a very big heart that is desperately and sadly missed! Thank you so much everybody xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been to Lepton this morning and put posters up all around. Asked any locals I saw if they'd seen a dog of Holly's description - unfortunately, nobody had. I'll keep going back to the village and hope the lady who rang me, will manage to catch the dog so we can see whether it is Holly or not!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had a call from a lady today who lived in Lepton (approx. 5 miles from my parents home) who said she'd seen Holly's newspaper article and photo and had seen a dog roaming around the village matching her description. The dog was wearing a collar - Holly didn't have a collar on BUT perhaps somebody picked her up, took her away and she's escaped?! The lady said it was unusual to see any dogs roaming the village and she'd never seen the dog until Tuesday of this week. We've been to Lepton twice today and handed her picture/details to a few residents and a postman who was in the area the dog had been seen! We've also put a poster up in the village store. I'm going to go back tomorrow with more posters and get them stuck all over the village just in case it was Holly. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just emailed every contact I have and told them Holly's story along with a photograph and asked them to email everybody they know etc. Hopefully, she may get sited eventually! Well, my Mum has spoken to a friend today and it seems that there has been a woman in the Birdsedge area acting rather suspiciously. Apparently she'd been walking around the village when she spotted a young Jack Russell. She then started asking the dogs owner who the dog belonged to, where they lived etc etc. The owner said the lady was acting really suspiciously and asking some unusual questions - no the sort somebody would ask if they were genuinely just interested in the dogs breeding etc! The friend also mentioned that a white van (dont' know what type etc) has been cruising around the area, again during conversation some of the residents mentioned their suspicions. I'm going to see if I can find out anything more over the next day or so...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you everybody. We've already been in touch with the kennels at Hoylandswaine. The lady there is the most helpful person - she's been fantastic! Managed to do a flier drop in Birdsedge and around the Sovereign today but couldn't believe how long it took! Going to target Upper Cumberworth tomorrow/Friday. Holly spends most of her time barking and watching people and cars passing my parents home on the main A629 Sheffield road. It's surprising the amount of people who have said, they know exactly which dog we're talking about. She seems to be very well known!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks everybody. We've contacted Huddersfield and Barnsley police being that we're on the border of both places. We've also contacted dog wardens, vets in our area including Donaldson & Partners, put posters up on the lamp posts within a mile radius of our house, posters in local shop windows and we're doing a door to door leaflet drop tomorrow to see if we can jog anybody's memory as to any suspicious vehicles outside our home. There's also a working terrier show at Harden Moss on Saturday so have done more fliers to distribute there. On top of that, we've also registered her disappear on numerous websites. We are offering a substantial reward so, if Holly has been stolen, perhaps the thieves would prefer the cash to Holly herself!! Fingers crossed. Can I just say thank you so much for everybody's help and support it really is appreciated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
