Poor Sunny really did have a rough start to his life. Fingers crossed that he went to an experienced Great Dane home, as a dog who has challenges to overcome takes extra time, patience, firm but fair rules and lots of love to thrive. Hard work but well worth it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sunny is believed to be either in the West Country, or rehomed from there during September or October.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a fiasco, I'm hope the 2nd rescue have homed her somewhere suitable, as already said to take on any dog with problems has it's ups & downs but a dog of this size would need a knowledgeble home. I hope everything sorts itself out. Good news from lurcherlass-hope more join in.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I do hope Sunny is happy in his new home. One thing is it is not everyone who can look after a large dog like a great dane. To take on one which has had problems ,would have taken a lot of consideration. There seems to be a lack of communication between the rescues. I do hope it is all sorted out. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have some good news, in that our local rescue have just adopted the policy of microchipping every dog that comes through the door (provided it dosent already have chip). Hopefully this will ensure any dogs adopted that end up as strays or passed on, will be identified as having a traceable owner. Let's hope Sunny is happily living in a new home and any fears are put to rest. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh dear sounds like a bit of 'confusion' has gone on. Really hope Sunny is in a happy loving home and is quickly traced. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sunny was rescued in September in a neglected and emaciated condition from a house where she and an old Airedale were left to die. Police, vets and RSPCA were involved and have records of this incident. The dogs were signed over to a rescue and treated. When they had both improved and vet had said they were well enough to move on, a home was offered locally for the Airedale. Sunny was less socialised and needed to go to a specialist rescue or a knowledgeable home. Another rescue offered to transport her to a suitable place, but the situation is now that the first rescue has not been told where she is. Sunny has probably now been rehomed, but the first rescue who is the legal owner wants to be assured of her whereabouts and that she is OK and to pass on all previous health reports to the current vet. If Sunny is safe and being well cared for, first rescue will do the paperwork to sign her over to her new people. The police are involved and the incident number is 29523/9. Any info in confidence to police or to Doglost please.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
