- REUNITED 3.30pm 3rd Jan from the Yorkshire Dales Moorland Group (inc pictures)
"Today thankfully been reunited with its owner. Local gamekeeper Tom from Arkengarthdale found the 18 month old spaniel sheltering in a stone barn near the moor edge in sub zero temperatures. The discovery came after keepers in the YDMG had instigated searches using thermal drones, optical equipment and good old local knowledge. Her owner Caiti, who was on holiday in the Dales when the dog disappeared, was overcome with emotion when Tom delivered the good news. The dog appeared to be in good health but a precautionary trip to the vets is now underway. Owner Caiti could not thank Tom enough for recovering her beloved pet particularly as heavy snow is on the way within the next few hours. Having instigated a poster campaign and flooded social media with appeals, Caiti appreciated the efforts that Tom and the other keepers had put in to try and locate Isla.
Well done Tom, a heartening good news story to begin the new year"Last edited: 2025-01-03 17:34:16 by Mandy - 2025-01-02 23:22 Louise
