Rough coated lurcher bitch gone on site under found, Central, today.
I know it's the other end of the country, but Reported in South Coast leader newspaper 29/9/11 - Two dogs rescued by Lewes council in East Sussex – Pappillion and Saluki-Lurcher. No descriptions. Seaford dog rescue have carried out a health check.
Any news or sightings?
the first 2 that were stolen were on the front page of the champion newspaper around the second week after they were stolen but the third hasnt been in the paper as he was still with us then.
Have the three dogs been in the local paper? I left a poster at the Visiter office in Southport and asked them to call the owner but have not seen anything in the papers. Hope there is news soon

i'm so sorry it wasn't her but glad you posted as not seeing your post i nearly put on the girl from stray aid as i was pretty sure from the photo she'd been shaved .... don't give up we are all watching out for her.
drove 300 miles today as we had an email to say sandy may have been at strayaid in durham, the photo on their website shows a shaved dog as they believe it was stolen and the theives tried to disguise it, when we got there it was identical to her but unfortunately was too small to be her :( so sad people do this to these poor dogs x
Unfortunately it wasnt Sandy at halewood. Still no more news or sightings anywhere else :(
The beige greyhound has been caught and taken to Halewood RSPCA. Perhaps it may be worth checking out if it is Sandy as she doesn't have a microchip?
There is a report of a beige greyhound running loose in Southport on dogpages. The area is described as Weld Road, Victoria Park, Queen Jubilee Nature Trail. The dog was seen being dumped from a white van. It says the dog warden is aware - it might be worth making contact in case its Sandy.
Any news? Any more sightings in Widnes?
Hi, Longshot but there is a female on www.hyndburnstraydogsinneed.co.uk which is in the rehoming section - looks slightly more ginger but is wearing leather collar as described. They pick up from all over. Worth a look anyway. Fingers crossed. UPDATE spoke to owner this morning and unfortunately it isn't her :-( Keep looking everybody!Last edited: 2011-02-03 09:11:30 by mojomoment

I have just seen on another site that a third dog was also taken. I have notified the co-ordinator that you have had contact with, she may contact you soon to ask if we can have the 3rd one registered. Do you know if this page was bumped due to sightings? If not it will be when your 3rd one is registered. I hope you have them all back safely very soon.
Google says B65 is Rowley Regis, Birmingham
Whereabouts is B65?
Fawn broken coated Lurcher found B65. No ID. Could this help? Posted on K9search FB page.
Hope we get Sandy soon then we can focus on finding Taz. Jan don't worry about texting me late don't sleep much
Theres a female lurcher similar to Sandy on http://www.babbington-rescue.org.uk/Dogs.aspx please check it out. Sorry I've just read the other posts and it can't be her if she has been sighted in the area.Last edited: 2011-01-25 09:17:24 by AlisonH

J MO I was going to text you to alert you to the sightings but thought it was too late in the evening. Great they have also been in the West Lancs papers. Jan x

If anybody fancies a walk up to Pickerings Pasture i'm happy to come along.. there is normally a few dog walkers along the way who can be given leaflets. I'll speak to our local DW tomorrow and ask him to mention it to the ranger at pickerings Pasture in the mean time x
Hope it is Sandy and she is home soon. Both Sandy and Taz have appeared in West Lancs papers. Everyone seems to know. The chap at the Burscough recycling centre was talking about them yesterday and had seen the story in the local paper.

samward1991, I've emailed you with advice on what to do if you see her. Pickerings Pasture is very popular with dog walkers, if you can visit in the day ask the wardens if they will display a poster in the information box. I will try and contact Halewood RSPCA tomorrow but will also email them a poster. Jan x

Hi samward.. this recent sighting is just around the corner from me. I'll have a drive around this area tomorrow & check the industrial estates. I'll take a few posters in case i see any workers on the industrial estates who i can give a poster to. Everything crossed here!
Has my DW (Halton) been contacted do you know? If not i can contact him if needed. Adele x
Here's hoping you can follow up on this sighting and it is Sandy.
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

samward1991, thanks updating us and great there has been a possible sighting. Contact the DW for the area on 0303 333 4300 to see if they have had any reports of her, if picked up she would be taken to Halewood RSPCA 0151 486 1706. I will email you SCENTING Instructions. Good luck. Jan x

BUMPED due to sightings.
We have had a call from someone who thinks they may have seen Sandy (the older one) at an industrial estate on McDermot Road in Widnes, just before the Runcorn Bridge, on Friday 21st January. They think they saw her eating out of the bins and described her perfectly even down to the collar she was wearing, a leather lurcher one that is thick at one end and thin at the other. She may still be wearing it now. We have been up there and put posters up but the fog has made it difficult to look for her. There is a park/woodland nearby called Pickering Pastures where she could be roaming as there will be food and shelter there for her.
Been to the offices of the Ofmskirk Advertiser and they have agreed to put details of Taz and Sandy in the Ormskirk Advertiser and Skelmersdale Advertiser.
Hope it brings some news xx
Owner should contact the Council to find out where the travellers are in Skem. Also has the owner spoen to the Golf Club in Cranes Lane to see if they saw anything and to put a poster on their noticsboard?
I have today postered the Vets in Rufford, Tesco in Burscough, Pet Paraphanalia in Burscough, Ormskirk Police Station, Ormskirk Royal Mail Depot, Ormskirk Library,The pet shop in Ormskirk, Freshfields Animal Rescue shop in ormskirk, Jack Leg Boarding Kennels in Lathom and around Cranes Lane. Hope we get some news soon xx Last edited: 2011-01-14 23:41:57 by J MO

Thanks everyone for helping and for the emails/texts, I've been off line with connection problems but sorted it now. :)

Details updated to cover both Taz and Sandy on the DL poster, also created joint various size posters and will email to owner with info/advice. J MO thanks for getting in touch I'll email the various size posters to you. Keeping everything crossed they are made TOO HOT TO HANDLE and we seen them in the BLUE soon. Good luck. Jan x
Sent details to contacts in the area and will also post on Rhu forum asking members to look out for them.
Both Sandy and Taz were taken from their kennels, 2 older dogs were ignored. Police informed. We will get joint poster to owner as soon as we have photo of puppy. Pelase watch out for these dogs.
Texted owner to offer advice.
Thanks J MO and Paw for your assistance; I'll ask local co-ord Majorjet who is a whizz with the posters to put Taz and Sandy on the same poster. Hoping these 2 are found soon.
Can we add Taz's details to the poster as they were both stolen at the same time and we can use one poster
Have posted the two Vets on Ormskirk. Called to offices of Ormskirk Advertiser but shut. Off work Friday so will call again then
Just e-mailed details to some business contacts in Southport and Burscough, hopefully they will spread the word and also keep a lookout for this one.Last edited: 2011-01-12 14:11:15 by Paw
I am not too far from this area so can help poster. Owners should contact the Ormskirk Advetiser as they have always been very good about running a story on our missing dogs. Market day in Ormskirk tomorrow so a good day to poster. I will poster the vets in the area

Sorry to see Sandy has been stolen - you have no doubt reported this to the police and obtained a CRN? Please take the advice given below, it is imperative that you put up hundreds of posters in your locality to make this girl 'too hot to handle' and inform local dog warden, vets, kennels, farms. Try and speak to your local Traveller Liaison Officer who may be of assistance to you. I'm sure someone more local to you will be able to post further advice and offer of help, I am unfortunately a long way from you to offer any practical assistance. Good luck and I look forward to seeing Sandy back at home very soon.
Sorry to see that SANDY AND TAZ is missing.
