Dear all
A little update from Heidi!
She has been signed off by the vets today and apart from being rather clingy in the house I cant see any long lasting effects on her. Different story for me as I still cant believe how lucky we have been. Of all the possible outcomes, Heidi walking home and meeting me by the gate, hadn't even crossed my mind.
I am now going to be a committed volunteer. Cant say this enough but so touched by the kindness of strangers. This has made me a better person.

Delighted to say I saw Heidi with her dog walker today in the park and she looked in great condition and certainly none the worse for her 'experience'.
Belle
Such lovely news. Hope she's okay and would love to see a reunited pic. :)

Delighted to read this, just got back early this morning and was about to contact you to help search but checked here first to read the excellent news. Sounds very much as though she was locked in a workplace over the weekend. Brilliant news

Heidi here. Got up in the morning to meet Diane my dog walker to start the search again and as I got onto pavement Heidi came towards me. Couldn't believe it. I have been crying roaring ever since but happy tears.
Not dirty but thinner.
Diane thinks she was in an industrial place. Was trapped in, and gates opened in the morning and she's come home :o)
Off to vets. I am so grateful for everyone's efforts to help a person and dog they didn't know, who says Londoners are unfriendly??? Faith in humanity is restored.
My heart however does go out to all those other people searching for their best furry friend. I know I've been very lucky. Will post after vets seen her.

I really hope you get some good news tomorrow. I've been checking the pages I know that have any found dogs on them and will keep checking. There was a Westie missing not far from you a while back and someone kept him for a few days as it was the weekend and they did not know where to report so I am really hoping that is the case with Heidi/Cody. p.s. I agree with the comments below about the name issue as in I don't think it will be a problem that her name has been changed and the sounds are similar anyway. My Rosie answers to Posie, Nosy and even China. Last edited: 2013-08-26 21:47:19 by reggiemollieros
Shereen
I don't see why she wouldn't know her name if she answered to you for 4.5 months?...We do recommend that strangers don't call her name anyway, so id say is fairly irrelevant ...if sighted you (THE OWNER) could call her anything in the correct way and she would hopefully come to you ...Approach should be very gentle anyway because of what happened she will be in survival mode...if you would like me to call you to talk you through this ,please email admin@doglost.co.uk ....Mark it for Attention of Shereen.Last edited: 2013-08-26 22:01:11 by Shereen

4.5 months is a long time ...regular feeding...regular exercise with the owner....who has nutured her loved her...cared for her. I think Hiedi will hear the Di in her name whatever a breeder from afar has to comment.
mandyskis
Ive made an amendment to the poster as Heidi's breeder has been in touch and informed me she wont answer to Heidi as its only been her name for the last 4.5 months. So I hope the double name doesn't cause any confusion.
mandyskis
No luck at all Sue...
I've been to the council estates near me, cemetery again (parts of it as was about to close), Garratt Park........
Posters working as now getting texts from people asking if she's been found.
No sightings apart from around time of accident......
Will be ringing dog warden and all the official type people tomorrow.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for everything.
Mandy & Heidi

Hi i hope u have had some news today , i haven't been able to go out looking today as i have been out of London have u had any luck ? ,
mandyskis
The kind person who called yesterday wrt Heidi sighting texted the following message.

"Hi I phoned yesterday afternoon re Heidi sightinh Thursday evening - I remember she ran along Garratt Lane past the Pizza Hut looking lost and muddled and heading south towards the Tesco Express and Earlsfield - do hope you find her before long"

Have done Brocklebank Estate and Wendlesworth Estate.

Off to Garratt park ASAP.

Not sure what else to do.

Heidi's frantic mother.
DogLostBattersea Dogs HomeBattersea
Owners do have a report with BDCH but we have no news sadly. If we hear anything we will let you know straight away.
mandyskis
Thanks for everyones efforts today.

Been back to Wandsworth park and the river walk near Putney.

Heidi's breeder has been here looking with Heidi's mum and daughter.

I have had a sighting, albeit from the day she went missing. I was called to be told that a agitated dog fitting Heidi's description was seen at the junction of Garret lane and Swaffield
road on Thursday night. This would imply that she initially at least went north on or near Earlsfield road before turning left.
The Brocklebank estate with many alley ways is on the route she may have taken, I have been there tonight and will be returning tomorrow.

Vets all around London informed. More facebook and nappyvalley.net tweets.

Please don't give up on her. x

Usually just around the corner in Farlton Road but not back until tomorrow night. Repeating what I wrote on the FB thread: Diane have you notified Battersea Dogs Home too? All strays go there. Also email the safer Parks Team WW-SaferParks@met.police.uk (they have replaced the Wandsworth Parks Police). Have you phoned all the local vets? I'd go as far afield as New Malden/Raynes Park - Companion Care for instance based at Pets @ Home. Definitely put a poster outside local stations/underground. Will find out if there is DL FB page for London and the SE, I think there is. If she went up Earlsfield Road it might be an idea to leaflet drop all the houses on both sides of the road. Have also given heads up to friends living in Farlton Road and Allfarthing Lane, also a friend in Southfields - might be an idea to poster there especially towards the top end if she's hanging out around the Common. So hoping that she's back before I am but will help out searching when I get back. Good luck.

Sue was that the allotments in King George's park, next to the school? Might also be worth looking at the fenced in bit of 'wild' garden next door to the allotments in the park, she could be stuck/hiding out in there, lots of places to hide out. There is also the 'field' opposite which is also fenced in with quite a bit of wooded area plus thick hedges.

Was spekong to the wansworth maintance in the earlsfield cemetery he said he will spread the word on heidi around wandsworth , also we gave a man her imformation at the allotments , so fingers crossed there may be some news soon
mandyskis
Riverlady, am home to recharge phone! and tried to find contact details for SNT, any idea where I can find them. Don't want to ring 101 and get yelled at. They dont seem to have a "contact us" on the site.

Thanks to everyone that has been looking. Still no sightings. Not sure what to think anymore.

Have been out replacing posters that have been faded by the rain.....

So far all the local parks have been covered at least once, if not more than once. Will try Morden common tomorrow as thats one of the many parks she goes to with my dog walker.

Fulham Dog walkers are aware. More vets aware....

Heidi's original mother/breeder is coming up to London today to help too...

Thanks for all your continued efforts and invaluable support.

Mandy x

Just been speaking to the breeder of this dog who is a friend of mine, the dog only left her a few months ago. She thinks it would be useful to know that until very recently she was called Codie and would more readily answer to that name. Codie will be very confused, it is possible she may be trying to make her way back to Redhill where she lived until Easter this year
DogLostRiverlady
still circulating on twitter. Pro dog walkers looking and spreading word. Have tweeted local pubs. Maybe contact SNT Safer Neighbourhood Teams with the PCSOs...on cycles....it is going to get busy today....carnival ...lots of folks going out.maybe contact local minicab forms ask drivers to keep a look out.
sue
Just off to have a look around , was speaking to somebody who said u should ring local vets incase somebody has brought dog in for treatment and may be holding on to her , in that case she wouldnt have had her microchip scanned , worth a try
DogLostreggiemollieros
I shall tweet to Streatham people too and ask my local pet shop if we can leave a few posters in there. If I found a dog over the bank holiday weekend I would take to Battersea if the dog warden was not answering. I think some people if they were in a position to, would take care of the dog until the warden could collect. Have you called Lambeth dog warden as well? I just got this info off their website:
QUOTE: If you find a stray dog
If you find a stray within Lambeth, please contact us immediately.
Contact us on 020 7926 8860 between Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and we will come and collect it.
If you find a dog outside of office hours (between the hours of 5pm and 9am Monday to Friday and at any time during the weekend) and you have it safely secured you can either:
hold onto the dog until the next working day and then contact us 020 7926 8860 and we will come and collect it
contact emergency control on 020 7926 1000 and we will contact you to make arrangements for you to bring the dog to the council's reception point or if possible to pick it up from you
transport the dog to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Please note that we do not collect stray dogs that are not secured by the finder i.e. dogs that are free roaming, during out of office hours. UNQUOTE
I hope that helps a bit xLast edited: 2013-08-24 21:55:22 by reggiemollieros

Such a rotten day , got back to wimbledon and could not get out of car it was so bad , fingers crossed will go out tomorrow morning am going to try more your area will walk around the cemetery , i know from my experience that if you need a dog warden you ring the out of hours emergency number and I'm sure they can get hold of them , don't give up hope fingers crossed there will be a sighting very soon. X
mandyskis
Just in from a days search :o((
Sue anything is ok, Thanks for adding her to lost dogs on Facebook.
Reggiemollieros Heidi is/was fast and can run like the wind and used to be taken for walks in Streatham regularly....She could be anywhere....
Still no sightings. Where could she be??
Rain has ruined most of the posters so will be going back to Wandsworth common and park to reposter. Checked out Wimbledon park.
we've handed 300+ flyers out and have lost count of the number of people I've spoken too.
Weather is against poor Heidi.
Am concerned about the long weekend as RSPCA & Police don't take strays and dog wardens aren't working till tuesday. Any Idea what happens to Stray dogs over weekends??
Am desperate for any news, please please continue to look though I know because of her injuries hope is fading....
Mandy
DogLostreggiemollieros
So sorry you have not had any sightings yet. I shall see what I can generate on twitter on the local area. I saw lots of tweets from the main Doglost page. I am in Streatham so is unlikely she has come this far but will ask people to keep an eye out if they are going up towards your way.
sue
Have just added her to lost dogs on face book for you hope that's ok
mandyskis
No sightings, no word as of yet.
Have been to Wandsworth common and spencer park again.
Have put up loads more posters....this time in clear plastic pockets.
Have been out posting flyers.
She is such a homebody and loves her creature comforts, breaks my heart that she could be suffering in the rain.
Please please continue the search.
Mandy
sue
Been to wimbledon common today , weather was against us but did have a look around and spoke to a few people if it drys up will go out again
sue
Mandy i was also thinking to try the cemetery tomorrow as she may find it very peaceful in there we looked tonight but couldn't get in as gates were locked
Unknown
Hi Mandy, don't worry you not rambling at all it is a very stressful time. keep reading through all the advice re scenting, times to go out etc. yes defo get flyers out. The posters really work so keep on putting them up. hopefully you will start to get some news or sightings on where you can concentrate on looking. Will make sure Heidi is shared on the doglost facebook pages. Ty for the help being given to search for Heidi. x
mandyskis
Thank you all again, despite the awful circumstances some faith in humanity is being restored.
The complete lack of sightings and her injuries are leading me to fear the worse.
A dog just cant disappear into thin air. Hazebella got your email and have been out postering and talking to anyone who will listen.
I am desperate now, does anyone know of any sniffer dogs.....
If she is hurt she may be lying low, I need to get to her. Might try fliers tomorrow as she may be in someones garden, shed, under a bush....
Please forgive the ramblings of a distraught mother.
Thank you to all that have been out looking for her.
sue
hi Mandy went out until it got dark this evening ,
but no luck,
I will be going to Wimbledon common tomorrow so I will put some posters up for you ,
hope you have a sighting for tomorrow x
